I’ve had this feeder for four years now. It has never given me any issues, and I’ve moved twice with it — each time with very easy set up. It’s great for my cat in keeping her feeding on-schedule. She typically gets fed at 7am and 7pm, so it ensures she is fed around when I get up and around when I come home from work. It’s very easy to adjust portions, and it’s great to give a little snack from my phone! Early on, my cat did figure out how to give herself a snack with the button on the top, but it was very easy to disable that option. This feeder is also fantastic for when I am away, as I only need someone to give her attention and wet food in the evenings. I have recommended this product to several friends, and I can confidently say that it has been a lifesaver! The only “issue” I’ve ever noticed is adjusting for daylight savings time. I always forget to adjust it, and my cat does not understand daylight savings time so I manually place her feeding time an hour before/behind to keep her schedule set. Very easy fix, but it’d be nice to have that automated!

We have only had this feeder for a few days but so far I am very happy with it (I will update this review if my decision ever changes). As several people have noted, this feeder does not support 5Ghz networks, only 2.4Ghz, so I had to setup my mesh network to only transmit in 2.4Ghz while I set this up, but everything went smooth after that. PROS: --Setup was simple. --The hopper can hold quite a bit of food, which is something I didn't even realize I would like about this. My old automatic pet feeder had a smaller hopper and could not fit the entire bag of dog food, so I always had 1/4th of a bag of dog food that I needed to store. Not with this one -- I can fit the entire bag in the hopper. --The app that you install on your smartphone is intuitive and easy to use. It uses cups as the measurement (1/8th, 1/4th, 3/8th, etc. all the way up to 4 cups) so it is easy to tell how much food your pet will be getting, unlike my old automatic feeder that just listed the servings as 1 portion, 2 portions, etc. (you had to manually measure it to figure out how much 1 portion was). --It is compatible with Alexa (but some minor tweaks needed -- see the CONS section below) CONS (all minor so far): -I didn't like the command you have to speak to use the Alexa skill. "Alexa, ask Smart Feed to feed a snack" just didn't feel natural to me. So, to offset this, I added a routine in the Alexa app so whenever I say "Alexa, feed my dog" or "Alexa, feed <dog's name>" she interprets that as "Alexa, ask Smart Feed to feed a snack". So now I can say what feels more natural to me, and Alexa understand this and passes the right command to the device. Works great and works from any Alexa device in my house (we have 8 echo devices)! -My pups don't understand that they each have their own dish. The main reason why I purchased this auto-feeder is due to the fact that it supports a splitter and two bowls. I set this up so my dogs wouldn't have to share a bowl anymore, but they still eat from the same bowl together (see the picture). Maybe this is what they prefer or maybe it will just take time to teach them... we'll see. Overall, really pleased with this purchase so far and would recommend this to others.

I nearly gave up on this feeder and this is why I gave it 4 stars. I downloaded the PetSafe app on my iPhone and launched the app. After several attempts at setting up the feeder carefully following the instructions on the guide booklet, the feeder WAS NOT dropping any food come meal times!! The only way to make the feeder drop food was by manually pressing the “instant feed” button on top of the feeder!! There was no customer support on weekends; I was stuck, fed up, and seriously considering returning the feeder. As I carefully read the instructions one more time, I noticed it said in the middle section of page 7 that the LED Indicator of the “instant feed” button would turn BLUE when properly connected to the home Wi-Fi!! (that button had never turned blue during my setting up attempts) Enlightened by this, I focused on the SMALL “Setup Troubleshooting” at the bottom of page 6. 1. Ensure your home Wi-Finis working properly and that your phone is connected to it (it was) 2. Place your feeder near your router during initial setup (it wasn’t: my router was DOWNSTAIRS and the feeder was UPSTAIRS!!) After reading point 2, I took the feeder downstairs, plugged it in, and tried setting it up again. Through the process, I also followed on SCREEN instructions and bingo, SUCCESS!! The “instant feed” button turned steady BLUE!! N.B. The 4 D size batteries being in place, all my settings remained unchanged while returning the feeder upstairs. Everything has worked FLAWLESSLY ever since. I love how EASY it is to MODIFY the time and the quantity of food scheduled for each feeding, and it is SO nice to see the food being served right ON TIME everyday. One last thing worth mentioning: the SIZE of my cat’s kibbles is fairly LARGE (Hill’s Dental Care) and this feeder has NO PROBLEM at all handling its size. In conclusion: I am VERY happy with this moderne, reliable feeder. I heart fully recommend It.
