5-Quart Hot Water Dispenser, Silver

As a veteran of numerous hot water pumps, I was resigned to choosing between piping hot water and key but common sense features...then through a friend I discovered the Heis HP8500 and it's like someone opened the (hot water) floodgates for me!First and most important--Heis keeps the heat...once water gets hot...it stays hot...that's a BIG plus, because while they all start off hot...in most cases your hot becomes tepid.Next, is the balance of style and substance. Most of these brands have designs that seem to be at the expense of features, and those with the features I need, seem to have a design sense better suited for a construction site than my home.Heis balances out both rather nicely..."looks" wise, it looks right at home next to my CuisneArt coffee maker and feature wise, it has everything on my wish list, the locking system, the spout, the easy to read indicator--it's the kind of product that you can tell was developed by people who use these things--not some engineers or designers in an office.Speaking of features designed by users for users, they have a pressless pump, that makes it easy for my mom who has neuropathy to get hot water when she needs it...the added feeling of independence even on a detail this small is a BIG deal for her...and therefore for us. I can't help but wonder if this feature came about because someone was in a similar situationI know plenty of people use these posts to air their complaints...but when a company goes the distance detail wise to deliver a clearly superior product,. its just plain good manners to acknowledge that as well.

Looks great but electronics are junk. Heats water well and keeps it very hot - SOMETIMES. Have had it for 5 months. From first week have had intermittent issues: It sometimes goes into a funny mode where 2 red lights flash and nothing else works. The only way to get it working again is to pull the plug to reset it. Specifically: - When disengaging Shabbat Mode - After adding more water, it heats and then does its flashing thing - Any random time (phase of the moon??)Has been happening randomly since I received it but is suddenly happening much more frequently.Manual does not describe this phenomenon, nor tell one what to do. On YomTov I can't pull the plug to reset. Neither manual nor on the Amazon site does there appear to be any way to contact the manufacturer.When it works its a nice urn, but .... Buy it if you like a nice light show!

Pros: looks nice and def got and kept the water HOT. Cons: the pump feature isn't great, the hot water tends to splash as you push down, which can hurt! There also is a very very hot plume of steam when it boils, that comes out the top, so you have to make sure you keep it in an open area and away from kids. The main con is that this machine broke after only a year...it would start boiling the water and never switch back to just keeping it warm, it just boiled and boiled. So obviously you can't leave it like that or all the water will eventually boil away.

Works great.I've had mine for a few months and getting the water on Shabbas is coming out slower and slower.

This is my second hot pot. The first was a Secura, but it held less water. There are 4 reasons I don't feel this hot pot deserves 5 stars:1.) The fill lid is difficult to open and it can't be closed without making a big "Clunk" sound. I keep thinking it will break.2.) It has no light near the spout when pouring, so it's difficult to see in a dimly lit or dark room.3.) The flow of the water starts too powerfully, so it splashes back when filling almost any container.4.) It has only one temperature setting.On the plus side, I do like the hand pump option, and it heats up very quickly. If none of these are a deal breaker for you, the price was a bit better than many of the other 5 quart options.

Great product.The water is really hotThe manual pump and the electric pump both work great and it's great to have versatility.The shabbos mode is great as wel!!

I'm using this device for a month now. The first few times were OK and the device worked and kept the water hot as it should be. The problem started when I disconnect it to refill it with fresh water. When I try to plug it back in, the device lights start flickering and it doesn't boil the water anymore. I have no idea what is the problem and I couldn't find any information about that. If someone knows what's wrong and how can I solve it I'll be happy to hear because I cannot even return the device! It's very frustrating!

I received this item with a massive dent in the frame!No idea if it works or not because I will be returning it.
