Pro Kitchen Tools Watermelon Slicers with Silicone Grip, Red (Set of 2)

THis is the second watermelon slicers I have. My other on is about the exact same as this one, except made of all plastic. Even the slicer is plastic. That one was VERY HARD to use! I didn't like it enough to keep it.This one, being made os stainless AND having little "teeth", slices or cuts through the water melon much easier than the other one! Works closer like a knife.It was a tad awkward for me to figure out how to hold and make work the best. But just after a couple slices, I got it figured out and beginning to like it the more I use it. Not that it's hard to use or figure out. I mean you hold it in your hand. and run it through a watermelon that is cut in half. Then after you've made a slice. Use it like tongs to pick up a slice. Simple enough.It is made pretty good and strong.It's a wonderful concept and idea as watermelons can be a bear to slice up to serve.Overall, I'm pretty happy. Like I said, the more I use it, the more I am liking it. Getting the hang of how to use it. A fairly quick learned technique.Relying on other's reviews I see written is important to me when making purchases; so being very honest with my own, is just as important.It has become a hobby and makes my day if it helps others!If you have any questions or comments please feel free to ask. I, like many of you probably, have bought many kitchen tools over the years that turned out to be junk. I was expecting this to end up that way too. Happy to say I was wrong. Such a simple thing and it works great! Carved up a large watermelon in no time and a lot less mess. Sink your knife in, pull out slice, put in bowl, repeat. Great!

Difficult to slice and does not easily pull out pieces

Bought these for my wife. She gives them a 10. She loves how well they work; how easily they cut through the watermelon. They appear to be well made. Looking forward to many years of use.

My family love watermelon, so when I saw this I just felt I needed to get it. I think this is the easiest thing to use. Once you slice your watermelon in half, you turn the slicer teeth side up, starting at the rind and push down and in a backwards motion (towards yourself). Squeeze the handle and lift your slice up and onto a plate. I still had to slice the watermelon into smaller pieces for the smaller kids but overall the size is good. I like that the handle is super comfy and non-slip, it holds a great grip in your hand. It doesn’t hurt your hands at all. The stainless steel blades are an added bonus; you don’t have to worry about the blades rusting out. Also it is a 2 pack, making it where you can be slicing the watermelon and someone else a cantaloupe at the family get together this summer. I did receive this product at a discounted price for my honest and unbiased review. The statements I have made are my own opinions of the product.

I have purchased so many whole watermelons since discovering the world of watermelon slicers. These are wonderful for making quick work out of preparing a watermelon. Gone are the days of having a watermelon slide all over the counter. Gone are the days of watermelon juice dripping all over your counter. Gone are the days of having to deal with water melon juice all over your arm while trying to hold the huge fruit in place to cut it. The gripping handles on these are so comfortable to hold because of the nice soft covering. This works so well for when you get a whole watermelon to cut in half with a large knife or for when you buy just half of a watermelon. Use this watermelon slicing tool to get beautifully uniform slices of watermelon. This slicer gets very close to the rind and is easy to guide, but it does take a little bit of practice. Start in the middle of the watermelon, and work your way to the sides. Once all of my complete slices are done, it's trickier at the ends. Either use the tool to scrape away what's still on the rind, or just take a large serving spoon to scrape the remainder of the fruit on the rind. I put the smaller scrapings in a container with the juices to eat separately. It's surprising how quickly a watermelon disappears when the presentation is so nice. These pieces are so easy to just pick up and eat right from you refrigerator. The slices of watermelon are also easy to use to make fun decorative shapes.... just use an open cookie cutter to get fun pieces to decorate your fruit platters or to garnish other plates of foods or drinks. This is a handy tool to have in the summer for taking the messy work out of cutting up a large watermelon. It's so much safer than continually using a large, sharp blade to cut lots of slices while that fruit slips around on the counter. It's great that two slicing tools are included with this order, because there's one to give as a gift. I purchased these watermelon slicers at a reduced price for an honest review.

I'm obsessed! I absolutely love the pro kitchen tools amazing slicer! I ordered it in red in the twin pack. So I now have one in my house and one in my camper. The first time I used it, it was awkward, but in no time I was using it like a pro. I want to go buy more melons just to be able to use it! Lol
