Appears to emit UV light. Haven't measured the actual output yet, though. Bought to try to find refrigerant leaks. It's got a decently-bright spot at 3-4 feet away.

I ordered several of these flashlights and one broke after using it one time.

I got and tried out my new Goliath UV Flashlight!! This flashlight is solidly built without weighing a ton. So, I put in some batteries and ran it through its paces. The strength of the beams with just 3 AAA batteries is fantastic! Part of the reason I made this purchase was that I have a solar powered set of watches and they don't always spend enough time in the sun to keep the batteries charged and I was told that a UV light would handle the job. Sure enough, I had one watch that was way low on a charge so I put the strong beams from this flashlight on the face of the watch and in no time at all the watch was fully charged and working again!! It's also GREAT to keep next to your bed so that if you need to get up in the middle of the night, this works great at providing you with enough light to get around the house without waking everyone up like with a bright white light. It also worked great at ensuring my chopping block was cleaned properly avoiding contamination from germs. All this in a well priced flashlight that's only about 4 inches long. This is a GREAT DEAL, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for great, multi tasking flashlight at an awesome price!! It should be noted that I was given a discount on the price of this for my fair and honest review.

Sometimes my dog pees inside the house and it is very hard to see when it dries up. I bought this product with the sole intend of using it for my dog’s urine.This UV handheld flashlight by Goliath Industry is made out of 4 pieces. The picture shown in the description is black; the one that I received is silver. The bottom cap unscrews and the plastic battery holder comes out. The flashlight uses 3 AAA batteries and they are not included with the product. The head of the flashlight unscrews as well leaving just the flashlight barrel. In some flashlights, the head comes apart so you can clean the glass/plastic cover, but in this case, it does not.So does it work? Yes and no. The light that comes from this flashlight is not very strong. You will have to turn off the lights in your house. This flashlight works really well in the kitchen. With the lights out, I can see grease/oil residue left on my kitchen range, the walls, around the fridge, and around the cabinets. The grease lights up with a greenish color. As for my intended purpose, this flashlight is a very huge disappointment. I pointed this flashlight to a spot that I know for certain had dog pee, and the floor did not light up. In order to test this further, I peed in the toilet and my urine did light up. However, it is not until I pee considerably, that I can see the glowing urine. The tiny droplets/splatters around the toilet bowl did not light up. I even peed on my finger and pointed the flashlight at it and it did not light up. I am not sure if it’s because of the fact that this light is not very strong or because it is in the wrong wavelength – several forums mention that lower wavelengths reflect better (i.e. 375nm or so).Adding to this, I received my product in a no-name box. When I took the flashlight out of the package, I could see dings and scuff marks on the metal body. The worst part of this was that the plastic/acrylic cover has several deep marks. At first I thought there was a film protecting the cover, but there isn’t any.Overall, the flashlight intensity is very weak. It works for kitchen grease, and checking if bills are real. But this will not work very well for finding human or your pet’s urine. Also, the fact that I received a product with dings and scuff marks tells me that the quality control is way below average or non-existent.This product was provided at a discounted price in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
