I am wondering how this has the Green Guard stamp when it's made with polyurethane foam?  Any input on how green this is product really is?

Does it have velcro to keep pieces together?

No, it does not have Velcro nor does it have a non-skid bottom. Our grandson seemed to like it but we sent it back immediately because the pieces slid all over the place. Well constructed but not very functional for a 10 month old to climb on.

Can a baby actually slide on this? It doesn't look steep enough?

I am not sure its actually meant to be a "slide". I have a 1yr old, 3 yr old n a 8 yr old who all enjoy these mats. (My 12 yr old a little too big) i use these mats with therapeutic intentions. these are extra wonderful as sensory input or working with OT as they make great strengthening tools. The diff size and shape of the mats provide a variety of activities and uses.
