Cousin DIY Class in a Box Jewelry Making Kit

This is the perfect starter set! I was nervous because so many reviews said the kit was for teens. I'm in my late 20s, but just starting out making jewelry. The beads are a little cheap, but all strung together, they look fine. The tool is great, though I also used some needle nose pliers I have and don't think I would've been able to make this jewelry without them. I thought the directions were pretty good, better than I expected. I also watched a couple videos to help. The kit comes with a few extras which is nice in case you mess up! Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

Got this for my 12 yo. This is the 3rd set of these I've bought her. Instructions are very clear and she loves to make her own creations. This has also inspired her to go out and buy additional supplies to make her own original pieces.

I'm rating this as a class kit, since most that will by this kit will be beginners that want to learn. The instruction booklet lacks vital information such as the identification of the beads. The instructions say to use a mirror bead, but if one doesn't know what it is, they're not going to easily find it. There are other things missing that a beginner wouldn't know, that I think would be of use, like how tight to pull the wire, etc. I wasn't a fan of the one bracelet, as it was very child-like IMHO. It would be nicer if the design was not all of the same bead, but that is my personal preference. I'm also not fond of an elastic bracelet. It would have been nicer to have something that was a bit more sturdy and with a clasp.The kit itself is complete with everything you need including the tool and mat. The tool is OK and works. The finished items look nice but the beads are not the best quality. The wooden ones were stuck together and I had to pull them apart to use them. Overall, it's not a bad kit, but I prefer a bit more instruction for someone who is just starting out. To me a "class" is a true step-by-step and is made for learning, not fumbling.

Gave as a gift for 11 year old girl. Looked appropriate and expect she will enjoy making jewelry. Have not seen anything she has made yet as she lives in another state.

With no prior jewelry making experience I was able to make a beautiful necklace that I would be proud to give as a gift.The instructions are clear and easy to understand.

Bought this for my granddaughter. Not thrilled with the quality. She could not wear the pierced earrings because they are not hypoallergenic.

Got this for my granddaughter who is just getting into jewelry making. Looks like fun.

This kit is filled with cheap materials. Which for the price is understandable. But i made two pieces of jewelry from the instructions and they fell apart when i tried to put them on. It is a good kit to learn on if you don't want to spend a lot of money. But just know that you won't be able to wear what you make.
