Formation of Character

This version is the real deal. It's so far, a very unique approach (of child raising) that has often died out. Many parents today seem to go down to a almost stupid level to relate to their children... Not on purpose but we just do it. I know, as I have too. The author actually believes children are valuable and capable to he treated to a higher level. This is very true to who Charlotte Mason was, the wording is very much antique and some areas, I honestly found myself having to repeat, so I could figure it out... I have heard other versions written by others more modern Authors are easier to understand. But, if you want to be challenged and have the real deal, grab this copy!

The title on the spine is listed as "Towards A Philosophy of Education" instead of "Formation of Character." (All of the content inside is correct and the cover correctly identifies the book as "Formation of Character." It so happens that "Towards A Philosophy of Education" is another volume by Charlotte Mason. Because her series is often purchased as a reference set, it may matter to some that the book is mis-labeled on the spine.That is my only critique; the content of Ms. Mason's book is, as always, perceptive and thorough.

Amazing book! Practical tips and excellent values.

This review is for the Living Book Press edition of Formation of Character - I was so excited to learn about the CM Home Education Series books finally being re-printed and published. I wanted the pink ones, but didn't want to pay the outrageous prices, so I had to read them online and/or have them pushed to my Kindle. Now I have an actual easy to carry book in my hands. I can make quick margin notes and have an easy go to reference any time.

Arrived in a prompt manner and in great condition. Very happy.

Can someone please tell me if it is possible to get a copy of this book with the correct title on the spine? The copy that I have has the wrong title on the spine. It will not work for my purposes. The title on the spine is Towards a Philosophy of Education. It should be Formation of Character.
