Modern replacement for my trusty Wolverine
When I purchased my first Nikon DSLR about 12 or 13 years ago, I quickly realized that I needed a way to back up the compact flash cards so I bought the Wolverine. I used it extensively while traveling around the world but it has limited storage and the more modern SD XC cards have greater storage capacity so I needed a newer back up device. There are not a huge number of choices and I have not used this much yet but will be exercising it heavily on a month-long South Pacific trip starting in mid-October.

10/2017 update after a complete field test
10/2017 update after a complete field test.Worked perfectly on a one month vacation:> Exactly what I was looking for> Import from camera cards fast & accurate> Easily handled multiple cards. Easy to rename & identify each> Incremental backups for only new images accurately added to previous ones> Sync'd to a USB flash as an additional backup> Reasonable battery lifeInitial impressions are:- Setup was easy & intuitive- Backups exactly as I was hoping for- Screen is a good size to view pictures- Compact designI've always carried a device to backup pictures & videos when traveling. My old Archos 604 has only 28GB memory & cannot support the modern photo & video formats, so it was time to update. I'm planning a long vacation & hopefully the Sanho will continue to perform well. I'll report when I return home.

Excpetionally Poor Customer Service
Purchased a previous model and was reasonably happy with it (We work as professional photographers and need to backup in the field). However, recently we had to contact customer service with Sanho (the manufacturer) and it took them SIX WEEKS to respond and when they did - they did not answer my question. When I persisted to try to get an answer the rep became snarky and condescending. I wouldn't purchase from them again and would warn future buyers to only purchase if you don't feel you will ever need to contact customer support and can take the risk of purchasing an expensive product and waiting 6 weeks to even get an unhelpful response.

Super useful for a photographer.

Worked great after I learned to use it.
Worked perfectly to add many images from CF card while on safari. I think there is a learning curve to be able to use it properly and instructions could be better. My tech friend suggested I make folders ahead of time so I could just add images to each folder as I go since I was erasing and reformatting my camera cards each day. This was a great idea and saved time while in Africa. The wifi is slow so I didn't bother to use.
