How does it stand up without sliding open?

We bought 4 of these for my daughter’s slumber party and they were a true hit. They stay up nicely because you screw in a pole on the top and there are indents in the wood where the 2 pieces fit nicely together.

does the tepee fold up for storage?

You can’t fold it once it’s put together, but there is a bag to store the parts in when you take it a part.

Could an adult and one year old lay in here and read together?

Yes, the adults legs would stick out though.

Can I add my own fabric? Is so what’s the dimensions?

I’m sure you could as long as you can sew. I don’t have ours set up right now to measure it though.
