J-Tech Digital 4K USB KVM HDMI Extender Over Cat6/6a/7 Ethernet up to 328 FT (1080P), KVM Over Ethernet, Supports HDMI 1.4 HDCP 1.4, 2 x USB, Near Zero Latency

This unit looks and feels solid. Unfortunately, it didn't work for my needs as I needed more from the USB connection than just keyboard and mouse, but I'm leaving 5 stars here for the customer service. The company went out of their way to help resolve my situation.

I'm using two sets of these to allow 1 PC to transmit to two separate monitor stations, each with a monitor, mouse, and keyboard. Each run with shielded copper wire CAT6 is only 35 ft long or so. On restarting the PC, one of the two sets will not display video, although the USB will work. It's not consistent on which set will fail on a restart. Sometimes it'll be 1 set, sometimes it'll be the other set. The only solution I found was on the receiver side of the set that isn't showing video, unplugging the power and plugging back in will sometimes fix it. Otherwise I just have to keep restarting the PC and hope they both come on. I'll be looking for an alternative.

Used this to clone a monitor, keyboard, and mouse to the opposite side of an office. Does the job, works great. A little warning: try to get identical monitors. It's a lot easier to have the same screen size and resolution. Mismatched screens might give you a problem.

Worked ok for four months then dies. Power on in both units but no indication of connectivity in the RJ45 cable. Have tried new cables throughout. Passthrough HDMI on the transmitter doesn't even work anymore. Very disappointed.

Works pretty well over about 200 feet. Video is good, latency is quite low, and it seems to have a scaling function built in (displaying a 1440p signal on a 1080p or 4K TV without resizing the picture) which is convenient. Some reviews state only the transmitter needs power; I needed the receiver powered as well. Didn't mess with the IR or audio cables, the embedded HDMI audio was sufficient for me. My logitech media keyboard (wireless keyboard + mouse combo) works just fine, but none of my game controllers work. Xbox One, PS4, and Switch Pro controllers all fail to interface with my Windows PC after extensive troubleshooting. If you want to use this to extend games to a TV, look elsewhere. This won't do it.

Working great

I've used J-Tech extenders before without issues but this one was defective from the factory, turning what should have been an hour job into several hours of troubleshooting--time my client won't be paying me for. I had to test the monitor, NVR, and LAN cable before I confirmed the extender was defective out of the box. Tech support answered quickly (it was a Monday morning) and were polite and helpful but I nevertheless lost money on the job. In the future I'll avoid anyting from J-Tech.
