Get Ready for School: First Grade

I have been using these workbooks from Pre-K to 1st Grade and my son loves these books! They are colorful, bold, and easy to read. I love that the answer key is in the back if it's needed. These books are ideal to use over summer break so your child knows what to expect the next school year and they are great to add for homeschooling curriculums. They are good if your child is struggling in school and they need a little extra help, but if there is a particular area your child needs to focus on then this may not be the best choice since this covers a lot.In all, I'd recommend this to anyone who is trying to help their child(ren) learn. I will be getting the 2nd grade workbook soon.

I was surprised when I saw how nice this book is! It's more like a binder with a ton of activities inside. I purchased it shortly after the schools closed along with a few other books to prepare for first grade and this is my favorite so far. Some activities are easy and will be review for my kindergarteners- but there are plenty of other challenging activities inside so I don't feel like any content is a "waste of space". I haven't started it yet because the school has been providing work pages and online review- but my kids are starting to get bored with that so I think this will get them a little more excited about our "classroom time". I love how everything is included and I don't have to search for pages or books to cover different topics.

A great volume that is part of a series. I would recommend this volume for kindergartners or first graders.Lots of cute images woven into the activities to keep us interested. The paper is thick enough to easily handle, write, and color on. The notebook-style binder rings make it so the pages lay flat or you can use the perforations to tear the pages out. This is very nice compared to some other activity books where the binding makes it hard to lay the pages flat.On the mixed review side, the amount of activities on each page is a bit low. On one hand it makes it feel like the pages are wasted, but on another it made it easier to pace us by making it easier to choose if we want to do a lot of work on a day or only do a little (on a day we were wanting to do a lot we can do multiple pages, but on a day we weren't in the mood we could just do a couple pages).

*I Was Not Paid For this Review, and Purchased this On My Own* I feel this is a great buy for kids getting ready for 1st grade, and trying to get ahead. I bought this to help my kindergartner stay on track with learning with all the closures due to COVID-19. I think any parent would be happy with the quality and variety of lessons and topics in this book. Ive already ordered the Preparing for Second Grade to follow up this book with. I highly recommend this workbook for any parent scrambling to pull together some homeschool plans!!

I saw this book at the local book store and then ordered it after looking through. It is very straightforward and just full of fun pages. My son carries it around everywhere turning pages and completing them. Most of them he can understand with little direction as well. Some I read directions and then he completes. I have bought several books that are similar and like this one the best! I also like how it is spiral bound so easy to lay flat and work!

My soon to be 1st grader LOVES this book! He wants to take it everywhere. There are so many different lessons in this book, and I think any child getting ready for 1st grade would benefit from this. Some of the stuff he breezes through, but it's a great refresher. Other stuff, he's never seen before, so it gives me a chance to sit and work with him. At least when school starts, he won't be seeing some of this stuff for the first time. I'll definitely use these each summer.

This book is awesome and I strongly recommend it. I had bought a handwriting and sight word book in addition to keep my son writing during the summer. Apparently that was a waste because this book does it all. My son does one page in each section a day. He’s never bored because of all the areas it covers. The fact that it is hardback is very convenient. I am very pleased and strongly recommend this as an educational summer tool!

Love love love these books this is our third one. I've gotten preschool, kindergarten and now the first grade edition. We just got it today and my son was super excited and already did over 10 pages! I get these for the summer to keep him learning but in a hands on fun way and he has always loved them.

Wow wow wow!!!!! Este libro esta hermoso. La pasta es dura, tiene arranca facil en las páginas, tiene un espiral grueso y muchas muchas actividades. Le doy clases en casa a mi hijo por la pandemia, se las doy en inglés y esta maravilloso. Tengo libros de otras marcas que me encantan pero la calidad de este es excepcional. Hermoso libro. No se si le guste a mi hijo porque aun no lo comenzamos pero a mi me encantó. Le doy 5 estrellas y mas. El contenido es fantastico. Trae secciones de todo lo que necesitan saber en primer grado con el Curriculum de estados unidos. Pero muchas cosas que deben saber universalmente. Recomendadisimo.
