Easy to use
I had the tool that is a stick with the roller on the end and I had a very hard time pushing down hard enough to get the spline in. This is super easy to use. You just push it like a toy car and it feeds the spline in and you barely have to push down for it to work. Changed 6 screens so far and it takes minutes per screen. Wonderful tool.

Clever... works... but...
This was quite a clever invention, but after doing a couple of windows I think it's not really necessary. The front wheel is grooved and will push the spline into the track, the back wheel (not grooved) pushes it in a little further. I think a one-wheel spline setter would likely do the job just as well... or perhaps one with 2 wheels, but mounted on a traditional "pizza cutter" style tool which would allow you to hold your hand in what would be a better position to apply downward force. I think you'd be able to apply more pressure to just one wheel at a time than having the pressure be distributed over two. Also, I feel like if I press too hard this all-plastic tool will break. Also... there's really no need for the clever feeding design. I think it's actually better to have the spline in front of the wheel than having to pull it from behind you. I don't see any advantage to that. It's actually less convenient. I'll likely get a regular tool to compare and will update this review. Having said all that, I'll keep it for now. It works... it's clever... but I think it's an "over design."

Works great
This spline roller works great! It's more ergonomic to use than the wheel-on-a-stick types, and installs and fits the spline in one motion. It was kind of a pain to use on my screens with the spring loaded pin catches, but rolling outIt backwards over the screen helped solve the couple of loose areas caused by those. I'd recommend having a normal spline tool as a companion to this one for touch-ups and corners. We'll see how it holds up, since it's two pieces of plastic clamshelled together, but it's still great after 125 feet of tight-fitting spline.

Design Is Great. Execution Misses The Mark
The idea behind this tool is excellent, but its current rendition falls far short of what it could be. It is very flimsy when applying the pressure needed to press the spline into the screen frame. This tool would be perfect if made more substantially, using a more robust material.

WORTH THE PRICE
VERY EASY TO USE OVER THE STANDARD TOOL TO RESCREEN.

Like dogs pulling screens out of doors
I'm a reluctant do-it-yourselfer. There are always soooo many things that need doing around a house and one cannot simply call up a guy every time something requires fixing. Not little things anyway. Like dogs pulling screens out of doors. So, I read up on it, bought the screen and spline (yah, I know what that is now...) and this handy tool and it actually worked! The screen mouse worked GREAT. SUPER! FANTASTIC. Really!!!The first door I had to do twice because I cut the screen too small. It was a relatively small learning curve though. I used duct tape to hold the screen in place just to get started, popped in the spline, and had at it. I went back over the spline again afterward just to make sure it was in all the way. I also got the scree tighter the 2nd time around.A couple reviews stated the screen mouse didn't hold up. I did 2 (double) front doors (one twice), a back door, and 2 (french) deck doors. I plan to do upstairs windows next (because I bought an entire roll of screen). The screen mouse still works - no problem.BTW, I also bought the traditional double roller tool, tried it first, and didn't like using it at all - i couldn't get the spline to stay in the groove. The screen mouse may not be a "Better mousetrap", but it's definitely a better roller tool!
