Odds And Evens [DVD]

Sure bet comedy winner
Terence Hill & Bud Spencer at their best. The sight of seeing Charlie (Bud) dressed as moomoo the baby is worth the money alone. Also for such a big guy who loses his truck due to Firpo (Hill) to see Bud drive around in the smallest ice cream van you'll ever see is so funny. Again Bud & Spencer play off each other in the famailar love hate thing seen in many of their other movies that works so well. The fight scenes as always so funny, so well timed and look so real. you even get to see on a rare occasion Terence & Hill fight each other. This all done as always in a entertaining way so it's fun for all the family and a REAL MUST for all fans of these two guys.

Very funny action-comedy
Johnny Firpo (Terence Hill), a US Navy Lieutenant, is entrusted with the task of vanquishing a gang of illegal bookmakers . Their boss is called Paragoulis, known as the Greek, known for being a great poker player . In the enterprise Admiral O'Connors invites him to get help from Charlie (Bud Spencer), truck driver and former gambler, now a repentant and a Sister Susanna's friend.

Navy steals
The Navy get fed up of being ripped off by gambling syndicates run by gangsters, and so send in their best man, Johnny Firpo, to crack the racket. But first Johnny has to enlist the help of Charlie, a superb ex~gambler, who also happens to be his half brother. Charlie however is extremely reluctant to go back to having anything to do with gambling, despite his natural talents, so Johnny must try several sneaky ruses in order to bring him onside to beat the gangsters...Another light hearted family~friendly comedy, with the pairing of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill, who were a prolific pair starring in countless adventures mostly throughout the 70s and 80s. There comedies often feature plenty of goofball antics and of course their trademark slapstick fist fights and silly stunts. With Spencer usually playing the grumpy one and Hill playing his polar opposite, a happy go lucky foil.Directed by Corbucci, who gave us a number of top Spaghetti Westerns, 'Odds and Evens' is admittedly not one of their finest moments, but however don't let that put you off, because this is still a good example of their work together and a decent enough film to know whether or not you like their output. Personally, I really like their work, which outside of Europe, probably doesn't get as much credit as it deserves, and if you are a fan of slapstick action or comedy action (e.g. Jackie Chan) you'll be in your element here.Luciano Catenacci once again stars as a bad guy, only this time as the head of the mobsters. With another major plus point being the awful and catchy music score, which sounds like something you'd hear on some annoying Sega Megadrive platform game! The UK Five Star Entertainment disc is the one under review and I have to say that although I'd watched this disc almost a decade ago, I was surprised to see that the image quality was really quite good and better than I'd hoped for. Albeit the dubbing is a bit poor at times and the extras are non existent!4/5

What a Movie!
I Saw this movie when I was a kid. And saw it 2 or 3 times. There are other Bud Spencer and Terence Hill films but this one was one of my prefered. It has a mix of comic gambling with comic fist fight. Somehow I laught more with this than with the others. I don't see this for more than 25 years.
