You have to sit and do this with the child.It’s not something you can give them to do it alone .

Poorly written, with a patronizing style. No explanations or reasoning behind the instructions is provided. No citations or research is provided to support the instructions. While I am familiar with Carol Dweck's work, this book does little to help a child understand the connections between that work and the exercises in the book. Kids don't need to be talked down to.

This is recommended for kids at least 8 years old but my 7 year old is grasping and loving this one SO much! We home school so each week we dive into a chapter and then spend the week applying what we learn for practice. My daughter is a very perfectionist type, she’s hard on herself when she isn’t “good” at something right away or is quick to give up when discouraged, but that’s not something I want her to take with her as she grows up. This book is very informative and fun, she notices characters in books/shows/games, or even people in public and points out whether they have a growth or fixed mindset, and she recalls moments of her past where she has had either a fixed or growth mindset. And ultimately in the moment, we actively decide if it would be more helpful to jump into a growth mindset (it always is😊)Bringing this awareness to her, has shifted her mindset tremendously, I would recommend to any and everyone!We also have the mindfulness book and it has been equally as amazing at helping her identify herself and her mindset more.
