Easy to keep clean!
I'm used to waffle irons being a bear to keep clean, but this one's great! The spillover channels haven't failed in a hundred uses to catch ALL of the spillover, and the non-stick surface is so good, I don't bother to put oil in the mix. Once I even forgot to spray the surface before cooking a waffle, and the waffle still came off clean (with no oil in the mix)! Makes great waffles, too. I like them so much, and find them so easy to make -- just a mix plus water, and throw in some nut pieces -- that now I have a waffle just about every morning. To clean, I just wait for the iron to cool down, then wipe out the grooves, and any surface that got oil spray on it, with a paper towel. That's it! I suppose if it were going to sit for a longer time between uses, I might try to get the oil off more completely. But it never sits very long! Have also made potato pancakes using hash browns, eggs, and sometimes canned salmon. Those make a great dinner entree, and the iron still comes clean with amazing ease. You'd think that, just wiping it out with a paper towel, I'd taste salmon in my pancakes the next morning. But I haven't. The waffles are so good, I'm not sure it would matter anyway. I'm not normally so effusive about a product; but man, I've really liked this one! (I have NOT been compensated in any way for this review, and I paid regular price for the waffle iron. It's just a good product.)

You won't regret this waffle maker.
My wife bought this off the treasure truck because, well she buys everything on the treasure truck. At first I was like, "we already have a waffle maker". I told her to send it back. About a month later we were getting ready for church early in the morning and our kids showed up from out of town and said they would be attending as well. I panicked because I would always make our children breakfast before church so I started think about time and what to make in a hurry for everyone. I found that I had everything I needed for a waffle breakfast. I put the bacon in the oven and turned on the stove for the eggs then I pulled out our old dash waffle maker and realized waffles weren't the greatest idea. Our old dash was a single serve waffle maker and at that they were small round waffles like eggos. I think my wife saw it in my face. There was no way I'd get enough waffles out in time for us all to sit down to breakfast together. It was going to be like the free breakfast at a crowded hotel, everyone standing in line to make a single waffle. That's when my wife opened up the pantry and pulled out this familiar box, she handed to me and said "why don't you use your new waffle maker". I knew not say another word, I just opened it up plugged it in and out came my waffles 4 at a time. This thing was amazing!!! It's true, there was no messy spilling out of waffle batter. Instead we got these great waffle sticks, at least that's what I call them, and everyone loved dipping them in the syrup. All 4 waffles cooked evenly and when I was done making the waffles all it needed was a simple wipe down with a dish towel. Easy clean up with no need to scrape off batter from the sides like my old one. We all ate and headed out to church with time to get good seats and all. I highly recommend this waffle maker, EVEN if you have one already.

Great waffle iron
I'm really happy with this waffle maker. I was all set to buy a different model after weeks of researching and reading reviews and deliberating with myself. I was going to buy one of the flip style ones and then at the last minute this Dash model caught my eye. What won me over is the no-drip feature. I hate it when waffle batter runs out the sides and makes a mess. And I have not been disappointed. The drip channels work beautifully and as a bonus, the batter that spills into them cooks and can be eaten rather than going to waste. The waffles themselves cook up quickly (about 4 minutes) and are evenly browned and crisp. I'm not always a fan of Belgian style waffles because they can be doughy, but so far that has not been the case with this waffle maker. I also like that the waffle maker was very reasonably priced compared to some others. The only thing that would make it even better is if the plates were removable for washing, but I guess you can't have everything. ;) I would definitely buy this item again and recommend it to others.

Likes~non stick seems a lot better than previous waffle maker, the excess batter reservoir works perfect, not only doesnโt leave a mess on the kitchen counter, it actually cooks it into little balls, I would expect the little kids to enjoy them more than the waffle itself.. Dislikes~locking clasp is an issue, lock closed & is a real bitch to open afters waffle cooks, this was also the case on my last waffle maker, in that instance I snapped it off, then regretted not having a locking catch for storage. This time, I notice if you let the waffles cook & rise a little ( 15 seconds ) before closing the lid fully, the extra height of the batter/waffle keeps the lid above the locking mechanism. This was a replacement for a different brand, that fell & the casing broke in half. This seems far superior in quality. Owned one day, made one batch ( 3 waffles ), time for a nap ๐ด

Surprisingly nice waffle-maker from small maker
A Treasure Truck find, we bought ours with modest expectations. And surprise, it's actually very good! We have used it both for traditional flour-based waffles and also cheese "waffle" crisps, and the DASH performed just fine. Two definite benefits: the side overflow channels let you avoid those messy raw mix puddles and cleanups necessary with typical units, and the cord wrapping in the housing keeps things tidy in the cupboard. While the "ready" lamp comes on a minute or so sooner than we prefer for crispy waffles, that is a personal preference that you'll adjust to as you get used to the device. There's only one real drawback, and it's typical of this price range; it's on and heating as soon as you plug it in, no off switch. So the only way to shut the maker off is to unplug it. Overall, the DASH makes nice square waffles that are easy to pour and remove, cleanup is a minor task, and the end product is delish. Buy it.
