Simple to use and effective
Bought this alongside one of their cleaning kits for SNES including the cleaning cards for cartridges. The system cleaning cartridges have very straightforward instructions, basically amounting to "insert and remove a few times". They require no additional alcohol or anything to be applied, and you can get a decent idea of what was removed looking at the strip inside them. This combined with the cartridge cleaning has my NES games mostly working with a single shot, aside from the more obviously damaged/poorly maintained ones. Can't ask for much more. I will say, the cleaning solution is just alcohol. The dropper's useful, but don't feel the need to get another bottle of that if you have alcohol in the house.

Awesome product. Must have for any NES owner!
This product is simple yet highly effective. I had a few games that I had cleaned very thoroughly and my nes still gave me those glitchy lines. I had even sprayed my nes 72 pin connector with contact restorer and compressed air with no effect. I thought the games must be bad and had lost hope. Last ditch effort I bought this and I popped it in and out of my nes about a dozen times and was amazed the amount of dirt and grime it pulled out without ANY solvent/alcohol etc. I popped in the games that were giving me trouble and they fired up and looked perfect. Don't replace your 72 pin connector until you use this. This is more expensive, but after having one of my nes's pin connectors replaced twice I can tell you the replacements are garbage; you get blue screens and have to wiggle carts and mess with them all the time. The nes with the replaced pins sits in a box while my nes with original equipment cleaned with this product is used regularly with instant game playing results.

Broke after couple uses, Free replacement right away!
I was using this to clean the NES part of my Rerton 5 and i go to pull it out and cleaner part ripped right out of the cart. UPDATE: At first i put a one star with the first sentence. I was contacted directly by them within a day wanting to address that issue. I showed a picture of it and asked for a new one and within minutes i had a tracking number. Amazing cusotmer service!! Retron 5 ports little sketchy and very tight so be careful.

Could be better
This cleaner could be better. First off for the price it should be refillable or something. I guess the cleaner part could be wiped if it gets really dirty. Second, if you use it on a brand new console or in a new 72-pin connector it will get stuck! I used mine in a new portable nes I bought. The cleaner got stuck like the console had a death grip on it. I had to pull so hard that the cleaner part came out of the housing! Had to use a pair of pliers to get it out of my console. I opened up this cleaner and the only thing holding the cleaning strip in was 2 beads of hot glue. I ended up super gluing it back in which will probably make it stronger. Not very well made. Maybe there are better options out there?

I do like it, easy to clean
Works well. I think overpriced for what it is. You can clean this with q-tips and water so it's reusable. The orange pull handle is held on with a staple and the cleaning pad is held in with hot glue so it's really not removable for a deep cleaning. I do like it, easy to clean, just seems a bit cheaply made and should cost about $10 not $20 or more. It does work well for quick cleaning your system or game genie game end.

single-handedly saved my NES! grab a 1UP for an extra life.
i had my original Nintendo (NES) since the early 90’s when i inherited it. i grew up w this console. like all my systems, it’s still hooked up to the tv today & in great condition. unfortunately, after decades of use, while hooking it up to my new tv, i got the blinking red light & it wouldn’t read any game cartridges. i tried opening up the NES & cleaning it, but it did nothing. i saw replacement pin connectors online, but they almost all had bad reviews & were unofficial, cheaply made (non-OEM) products.i saw this 1UP cartridge, but had my doubts. i decided to give it a shot & i can’t believe it actually fixed my 30+ year old system. finally got my Mario Bros./Duck Hunt to work again. had to clean my used copy of The Simpsons: Bart vs. The Space Mutants with Qtips & alcohol in order to get that to work, but it finally read it after that. in fact it’s reading all of my games again. i never leave reviews, but i’m extremely pleased with this. thought i saw that it was a US product as well, which is nice.grabbing the Sega Genesis 1UP after this, since it’s also starting to have trouble with certain games. now if my SNES or N64 have the same issue in the future, i know where to go. can’t recommend this enough! even if it seems too good to be true, give it a try. unless you have much bigger issues, i don’t think you will regret it. thank you guys!

Kinda works, but may leave behind scraps!
I have a front loader NES with the original connector and have had open it to clean before so I picked this up hoping it would be easier. After using this once it did clean out a good amount, which surprisingly wiped right off and I was able to get some more, however on the 2nd pass part of the pink layer ripped off inside the console so I had to open it up to try and get that out. I really like the concept, but I can't recommend this unless you want loose scraps inside your console.
