Shanghai Maths – The Shanghai Maths Project Practice Book Year 5: For the English National Curriculum Paperback – October 1, 2018

It is a wonderful practice book for kids. Some elementary schools in London, UK have adopted this Chinese math textbook to promote kids math education.

This is the 2nd edition of the practice book.Minor updates to some questions.The book's quality or reprint quality is really much much better now. The pages of 1st edition are nearly transparent.However, the book is seriously torn and ripped when arrived.

It was a used book.

Excellent choice for all those interested in field.

There are lots of questions, well organised according to topics. The questions gradually go deeper, therefore stretch the kids. Pages are well planned so that there’s sufficient space for the workout. Plenty of (but not repetitive) questions to pick out all the weak spots - exactly what the kids need to build a solid foundation. Some multiple choice and fill-the-blanks questions are a bit boring and too definition focused, which are quite off putting for the kids, but overall they’ve really tried to keep the questions interesting (by keeping them challenging and therefore satisfying rather than by being “child friendly”) to engage the kids.My boys are top of the top set for maths and I am certain they wouldn’t be where they are without this book. Be warned though: be prepared to invest time and “nagging energy”, and some parts are hard so you need to hold their hands to get through, but to me, it has been worth it.

It's a good book,the level is slightly higher than our schools. It has better examples and tougher questions.

we like this introduction to math immensely. the structure to progress quickly to becoming numerate is excellent and provides teachers a very powerful addition to their toolbox.
