Realistic Flowers - A hand-drawn coloring book

I like that these are nice clean line drawings without a lot of shading or stippling. I like to transfer images of flowers like these to watercolor paper using a light box, India ink and a dip pen. Then I color them in with Dr. Ph Martin’s Hydrus watercolors, Bombay India inks, and Iridescent Calligraphy inks. So I don’t like a lot of complicated shading or stippling.That being said, the paper on these is a little thin, I have several Dover coloring books that seem to have paper that is just a little bit thicker and sturdier. I would not be surprised if markers bleed through. It is nice that these are one sided images though, it always annoyed me when I still colored in the actual books that were double sided. The flower names are on the opposite page though, so if you take the page out it will have the name of the next flower on the back. The pages are not perforated. The designs inside are well represented by the example images in the items photos, and there is a key at the front of the book that is really helpful.

This is a great coloring book. The pages are one sided with only the name of the flowers on the opposite page. The pictures are large with large areas to color which allows me to blend and add my own details if I like. By providing the names of the flowers on the opposite page I am able to look up the flowers so I have some ideas on choosing a color palette. The paper works really nice with colored pencils. Of all my adult coloring books (and I have a great many of them) this is one of my favorites.

I bought this as a present for a normally very active friend, who enjoys coloring when she's sidelined by health issues. She was a college art major many years ago and loves coloring flowers in particular. She was thrilled with this coloring book. I was unsure that she'd like it because the line drawings are simple and not involved, unlike many other adult coloring books that have very intricate, detailed drawings and do a lot of the work for you through the printed page. My friend enjoys this coloring book a lot. The hand-drawn sketches of flowers are large, true to life, and leave lots of space for color shading and the whim of the person coloring. It arrived quickly, in perfect condition to give as a gift. Couldn't be happier :)

My only real complaint is the pages aren't perforated! I don't get how you can color with the pages in the book, but that's me. I paid $0.50 for my local UPS store to cut off the binding. Wonderful designs!The flowers are so beautiful and realistic. I like looking up pictures of the flowers and trying to recreate them.

Lovely book of flowers, only problem is the quality of the paper. Definitely not suitable for markers.

The book itself was very nice quality. The pictures were one-sided paper. But once again the flowers just seem oversized and practically bulbous. I prefer my pictures of flowers to be closer to the actual size of the actual flower.

Really really beautiful and realistic drawings of flowers. This is a book which I have waited to use, until Christmas to get the nice set of 78 pencils. I am looking forward to really planning the coloring very well. Some of these books are so overly detailed and busy, and downright mentally stimulating to look at because of it… But the whole point of adult coloring is relaxation. I am partial to coloring flowers, this is true, but this book is very well done. Also with some of these other books, many times I'm only drawn to a few in the whole book. In this case I am drawn to start with 80 to 90% of the whole book! Snowstorm going on maybe today is that day ! 😊

I was very disappointed in this coloring book. The paper is very poor quality. The paper is also very thin. It’s impossible to lay down good pigment for shading. The flowers are also very simplistic. The book is more for a beginner. The cover is very misleading. I paid way too much for a book with too few pages & so many flaws.

this book is great the flowers are just as they would be in the garden and are a good size I can't wait to get started. I will buy this book again.

For me the pictures are too plain, not much character

Nice but needs more pages

Very disappointed with this book.The drawings are alright but there are no colour illustrations to refer to, as most other books of this kind have. Would not recommend. There are much better ones available.
