Fun and familiar
Really great collection of basic piano hits for beginners (like me) who want to add something a little fun and familiar to their practice routine. Easy enough that I can use some of the music for sightreading practice and just to enjoy playing, and challenging enough (for a beginner) to keep me practicing.I'm excited to keep working my way through this one.

Excellent supplement
Alfred's aldult piano is a great course for learning piano. It takes you by the hand and teaches you simple lessons in a stepwise fashion. The greatest hits books are part of the alfred's adult course. On page 54 of volume 1...I saw a small not, "you are now ready for greatest hits vol1". I bought it. The lessons in greatest hits both follow and expand upon the lessons in the aldult piano course. Each lesson in greatest hits corresponds to what you've learned in the aldult course (each page of the greatest hits book tells you where the lessons corresponds to the adult course). It takes what you learned already and adds a bit to it it sees if you can add the next step yourself. For instance, when the adult course suggests that you can use the greatest hits book for practice, you haven't learned about accidentals yet. The greatest hits book take a song you've already learned (basically, it's "love me tender" you've already learned aura lee) and changes it to G major and adds the accidentals. Fsharp is pretty easy to figure out. It's a great supplement

Helping me improve my skills
The finger numbering is very straightforward and made for beginner adults. For my background: I am a 22 year who used to play when I was very young, didn't touch a piano for about 12 years, and then started up again about 2 months ago. I found this book to be exceedingly helpful, it is a bit more explanatory than other sheet music books. It is made to slowly acclimate you to Reading sheet music, understanding what each symbol means, as it won't be explicitly stated in most composition pieces. All of the pieces also correspond to the AlFred handbook for beginner piano players, which I am using to help myself learn. I find it very helpful that selections are already set aside for reinforcing skills taught in the course textbook; that are already made for the skill level of the learner.I would recommend this book for ages 10+ who are beginning their piano journey and want to learn how to play a few fun pieces and boost their paino confidence. I would also like to note that I bought this used and it was in just fine condition, so especially if you plant to write in the notes in the sheets as practice (I like to do that) then consider buying a used book for a fraction of the cost and to reuse perfectly good materials.

Goes well with their level one instructional book.
Book has a good choice of songs and goes well with instructions that would have given.

Almost perfect
This book is a really good supplement to the Alfred all-in-one books, which I use all the time. There is only thing keeping it from 5 stars. A few too many of the selections don’t continue the great stylistic ingenuity that you find in the method book. They are nice but not inspiring. The ones that inspire are gems. A small ding in an otherwise good book.

These are nice because it gives you some more song options
I played piano throughout grade school and have recently decided to take it up again after more than 15 years of not playing. I bought this along with the Basic Adult Piano Course books. These are nice because it gives you some more song options. It's easy to get kind of tired of the songs in the course books. This book coordinates with the course books, so you play through this book as you are working through the basic book. Some of the songs in the main books are a little too easy. These had a few challenging pieces that help you apply what you are learning in the course books.I would say these books are for beginners or those trying to pick it back up. If you are an experienced pianist, I probably would not recommend it, as you could probably find more challenging and better sounding arrangements for the pieces offered here. But again, if you are a beginner/intermediate player, these are great.

Helpful Companion Book for the Alfred's Adult Piano Course
This book includes a dozen or so popular songs which are appropriate for the skills taught in the Alfred Adult Piano Course, Level 1. I find it much more interesting and satisfying to play some "real" songs in addition to the made-up ditties they use in the course material itself. The songs in this book are, of course, edited and arranged for where you are as a Level 1 beginner, but they sound like the original songs and are good enough to show off to your friends. Not overly challenging but these will help stretch the skills you've learned up to this point in the course. Each song tells you what material you need to master in the lesson books before playing the song. Very handy. I am using this as a self-taught adult beginner, but I think a teacher would also find this book useful especially as a source for student recital material.

Alfreds Basic Piano Course Greatness Hits
I received a digital piano for Christmas and although I used to be pretty good at playing, it had been 15 years since I have touched the keys. It was like starting over again. I have bought several of the Alfred Basic books. I was ready to branch out to some fun music, but still needed to keep it fairly easy. The Alfred’s Greatest Hits was just what I was looking for. The songs are easy to play, but don’t sound so childish. I will continue to order more of these books as I progress. I also enjoy the notifications from Amazon on music books I might be interested in.

Just the job to develop skills with recognisable music
I've been using the Alfred's basic Adult book 1 & now find this to be complementary to the stage I've reached. So I've started my first piece. However looking through the book I notice that it's been carefully written to support the full Adult book 1 course with new pieces introduced at milestone stages throughout. Certainly a book worth having as you learn & develop.

Alfred's basic piano course greatest hits
This book is great for people in the early stages of learning piano. It follows the basic piano course, bit by bit, and gets more difficult as the book progresses. The songs are well known popular ones that most people will recognise. Would definitely recommend this book

Good well-printed arrangements and works well with the Alfred Tutor books
These work very well to supplement the Alfred Adult Basic Piano course. Like the tutor books, the print is bold and clear - particularly helpful to the older beginner! There is a reasonable selection of popular film music (mostly older classics) and the arrangements are carefully worked out to sit comfortably with the tutor book, which is often cross-referenced. Very useful.

Poor resolution
Low res scan of book and doesn’t zoom well. Tunes are ok but feels poor value given its digital and such poor visual quality
