Lonely Planet Eastern Europe (Travel Guide) Paperback – February 1, 2022

Covers all the countries in a single book so great for trip planning. Only negative was publication date in 2022 so it still includes Russia and Ukraine which are unlikely destinations.

I love lonely planet guides. But I have to echo a few reviews I read. The nature of the book gives such little information on any one location. It was hard to use on my trip. Additionally, some of the information doesn't convey enough detail. Like how I missed out on touring Schindle's Factory because I didn't book a ticket before I got there. I only had 3 weeks before I went, so even that might not have been enough time...the salt mine tour in Krakow was also A let down for me and my travel companions...but we heard so many good things. Additionally, prices because of inflation have shot up especially in Czech, Poland, and Hungary.

This wasnt worth the purchase. You can google this stuff. Somehow LP has lost their ability to make a useful guide.

Very comprehensive and well written. No spelling or grammatical errors so far which leads me to believe the content is well researched.

I have never written a book review but this book was so bad, I felt compelled to write to warn others to save their money. I’ve read a LOT of Lonely Planet books and keep several in my library. I truly don’t know what possessed the editors to let this edition go to print. It’s such a skeleton of information with barely anything to go on. As previous reviews stated, earlier editions were more useful. This had such sparse information - perhaps because they crammed in too many countries ? - it was better to go on the internet to search for information. Very poor value and even poorer reflection on the editors of the books I’ve come to rely on as my travel companions. I hope they’ll rectify future versions.
