I needed a small can to complete a recipe and bought this can of Old El Paso chiles. The Ortega chiles I had on hand looked like mush right out of the can compared to the Old El Paso ones. Oretga's quality has really diminished lately - I find a lot of red and orange chunks and stems in all of their cans now. The Old El Paso chiles looked fresher and diced perfectly. If I could find the Old El Paso ones in a larger size, I would definitely stop buying Ortega brand and switch.

Mild but tasty. I add to taco sauce I make with small can tomato sauce, diced fresh tomatoes, green taco sauce and bit of fresh onion. Heat it up and pour over the meat before you add the cheese and lettuce toppings. Also great in an omelet with cheddar cheese. Always have a few cans on hand. Seems like a small can but it’s perfect size.

I’m not sure why but the inside of my van was more like a purée than chopped chili’s I’ve gotten this brand before and it wasn’t a purée not sure if it changed or I just got a dud can I would but again anyways.

Awesome flavor and goes great in so many recipes.

I use them on the sides of main dishes with all kinds of food. Nice inexpensive addition
