One had intermittent problems starting 8 weeks after first using. It seems majority of charging cables are designed to fall apart after several months. Besides Apple cables, we’ve tried several brands from Amazon. When we needed new ones, I purchased these ZGEM braided cables. The cables are less flexible than the plastic coated ones, but worked fine to begin with. We use these as stationary cables - meaning they had a set place on our counter and were never moved or used for travel. It is only my husband and myself and the cables probably had less use and less handling than most households. We purchased in October 2016 and by Christmas one cable’s housing at the end started to loosen and not work at times. Over the next 2 months it just got worse, and we started getting the message the cable may not work properly with our iPhones and finally it stopped working completely. We are still using one of the cables and have had no problems. A friend gave us a Ventex cable (from Amazon) since he’d said they worked and lasted longer than others he’s had. The cable is flat, not round, is stronger and doesn’t tangle. We’re hoping we’ll have better luck with it.

These are 2 inches shorter than the Apple cable that came with my iPhone. The Lightning connector is much larger than the Apple brand. Strain relief is hard plastic, so it doesn't actually relieve much strain. I believe these will break sooner than the Apple brand. Also, the braided coating sounds cool, but it's actually a little stiff. Not my preference. Next time I will pay a bit more for the Amazon Basics brand, which has better strain relief, a smaller connector, and is less stiff.

Originally, the product was not exactly as I expected. I ordered the silver color, but only the connectors are silver, the rest is white. I've only used these for a few weeks, the cord is fine (so far) but the plastic ends comes off and can make it annoying to plug in. It works, but definitely not great quality. I would not purchase again.UPDATE: About a week ago, the cable just completely stopped charging. This was after a little less than 2 months of continuous use. One one hand, yes the braided cable was great and kept the wires from being exposed. However, the rest of the product was crap. The plastic end fell off at one point and was lost. The last photo shows how mangled the USB end of the product became, to the point where it would no longer charge. This was not due to unusual use, as I have never had a charging cable do this. Save yourself the time, buy a reputable brand like Anker. Even the cord that comes with the iPhone from Apple lasts longer than this one.

Finally a solution to all those cords just breaking and fringing. These cords are built to last and look great at the same time. There has been no stupid sign popping up on the screen that says this device is not supported. So that is a huge bonus as a lot of cords after just a few uses tend to give out and stop charging thanks to apple monopoly on its own products. I dont think these cords will fray at the bend as the braided material seem very durable for a long time of use. And as often as we have to charge phones now adays i would hope that the chargers will be able to handle it. Also the data transfer for syncing phone worked and had no problems syncing with computer. The price is great for this product.

They worked ok for about 2 years and 1 died ("this accessory may not be supported" error message). In my opinion things like cables and chargers I should pay a little more for more established, apple-certified ones. For the price not too bad.

Two of the three cord worked with my Apple products and one failed. I like the stiff cord as it's easy to store and transport. would have been 5 of 5 if all three cords worked. Amazon did me a solid and gave me a refund. I will buy 3 more and hope they all work.

I gave them two stars instead of one simply because I like the sleeving and they didn't throw an error message on my wife's iphone 6s. HOWEVER, both ends of every cable has fallen apart. On the lightning end the metal cover (where you would grab to pull it out of the phone) slides down the cord, and the USB end, has left it's outer casing IN my AC adapter! The cables still "work" but they fall right out of the AC adapter end now. I'm actually on Amazon now to order a different brand of cables to replace these.

Products arrived in good condition. The braided cord is a bit stiffer than I thought it would be. I have had to jiggle the connection going into the phone once or twice on one of the three cords. I haven't used the other two yet, hope they are a little better fitting.
