Ordered these knives and when I received them they were exactly like the photo! Really great looking set! Absolutely love the solid black color of the knives and the wooden block! Very sturdy, and while these knives are light weight they feel great in the hands when using them! They also cut great and are super sharp!!! When my order arrived there was some damage to the block and one of the knives. I contacted Astercook directly and they not only responded in less than 24 hours, they sent an entire new set as a replacement. The replacement set had no damage and looks great!!! Would definitely order something from Astercook again as their customer service was outstanding!!!

These have held up well, been using them about a month and they're still shaving sharp. Would highly suggest the usual, no dishwashers and an edge keeper, but these have held a razors edge so far. Pretty comfortable in the hand, not terribly heavy (in a good way) but still a solid all metal knife. They do look nice too which is a pleasant bonus.

Meh... they're OK i guess. I've had these for 4 years now.. the edges need sharpening almost every time I use them. Even in the beginning, they never really held any kind of edge. I don't use them much these days. The scissors just broke a couple weeks ago. But again I have had them for 4 years so I guess some wear and tear is expected. I do like that they are all made from 1 piece of metal.

Amazing knives! I bought a set almost 3 years ago, then a 2nd set for my bonus mom for her birthday this year. They're fabulous quality and beautifully displayed.

these knives lasted 5 years before the black finish started coming off, in a household of 5 people where they are used daily i find that to be acceptable. they always stayed sharp went through the dishwasher almost exclusively and dealth with abuse.

My husband & I bought these for my Mom for her birthday so she could get rid of her old dull knife set that didn't cut good anymore. She was skeptical about this set b/c she never heard of this brand. I told her I did research on them. I wanted to get her a knife set that are dishwasher safe & these say they are in the description on the website but they don't mention it in the paperwork in the knife set. Plus, they say there's a lifetime guarantee. The look of these knives are very sharp, rich, & modern. I love the color of them. I do have to warn everyone. I was cutting potatoes with them & I sliced the side of my finger plus, my nail off. I was probably using the wrong style knife to do it & wasn't paying close attention. Just be careful when using these!! THESE KNIVES ARE VERY SHARP NO LIE!! I still want a set for myself. I just have to be careful haha!!

Yes the knives can cut, no they don’t stay sharp and the black finish is chipping off. Hand wash only and still have issues.

Those knife are absolutely not ergonomic, except from 1, all of them have no guard if your hand slips on the all metal handle, you will cut yourself badly, nothing to stop your hand before the blade. The block isn't black at all, it's a pinkish brown, dosent match the knifes nor my kitchen.
