Powell-Peralta Tail Bone Black, 8"

I love these things cause they help avoid ware on your you know what, deck. Well made with an old school feel. Durable and fit well on my Santa Cruis you know what, deck.

I had to trim it to fit on my LandYatchz board. I traced out the fit and used a table grinder to get it to size. Then I drilled holes with a 1/8 bit and then counter sunk the hole with a countersink bit. Then clamped it to the board and drilled the holes and screwed it in place.

Great, simple, no problems. Good instructions.

The plastic quality and overall design are great. One size fits all is not accurate though. Piece was quite a bit too wide for my Arbor longboard as you can see in the photos. Required trimming with a jigsaw, which lopped off 2 of 3 screw holes, thus had to drill 2 new holes to place all 3 screws. Works great now, just wish the company offered a smaller size 😊

I bought this for the Powell Peralta Steve Caballero Chinese Dragon reissue deck I ordered at the same time.It fits perefct as is. This is technically a 10" deck but the tail is about 8-1/2" wide.The bone is exactly 8" and it's not too stiff. It was easy to clamp it on to the curved tail of the deck.I used a countersink bit to get the screw heads just below the surface and as it's a new deck, I was able to do it before putting the grip tape on so you can't see them now.I scanned the included instructions so everyone can see them before buying.

Just received my PP Tailbone, as many others have mentioned it doesn't fit my tail, so I will need to do some cutting. Also not thrilled that I have to drill 3 holes all the way through my board in order to mount it.

Sweet! It needed shaped of course. This is what I did maybe it will help someone. I put painters tape on the back of it and then clamped it on my board where I wanted it then I cut away the tape that was showing. This gave me easy guide on what to remove. I put it a vise and used a flap disc on a grinder. It worked good. I also used a counter sinking bit on the top side of the board so the screws were flush.

It is way too long to fit a standard 8” skateboard. Total hassle to return

The 8" size refers to the tail size, not the deck width. Initially purchased for a 8" street/popsicle deck and was disappointed at the fitment. Older reviews had the tailbone cut to size with jigsaws, but I'm a novice with power tools and decided not to. The dimensions of the Landyachtz Dinghy Blunt Fender are 28.5" x 8.6", and I decided to protect that instead. Since a 7/32 drill bit was required to drill a hole through the deck anyway, I drilled 2 custom holes through the tailbone and used 8-32 3/4" chicago screws/sex bolts/binding bolts. It's really strong plastic and great protection.

I’m happy with this purchase. My board started to get razor tailed but this has helped a lot to prolong the tail. I’ve installed it on a YOW La Jolla and it’s the perfect fit not ideal for smaller boards. Make sure you have a drill and screwdriver handy for installation and follow the instructions carefully.
