Chain is visually intimidating and has a far reach
Since ALL chains can be cut through easily by torch, the chain is a deterrent, not a preventative.This is the 2nd Bully "noose" style chain we've bought, and nobody's ever tried to cut the first one. We've lived in bad neighborhoods, and the thick links have been enough of a visual deterrent to protect all of my race-replica sport bikes I've owned. The best is Abus, then maybe the Kryptonite, but this is almost half the cost of Kryptonite, which is half the cost of Abus. I'm not counting the OnGuard, for it's only 4'. :(I've watched a Kryptonite New York series U-Lock melted through like butter (a student at my school had his bike locked with a neighbor's U-lock), with a small hand-held torch, and those are supposed to be tougher than the chains. I suspect a large bolt cutter wouldn't have much trouble with a high-end chain, as well, if they had 5min to work at it. For a motorcycle, I recommend an intimidating chain, and an alarm (even a Xena disc alarm).What's the moral? Unless your property will be unwatched for long periods of time, deterrents are likely enough for most people.

DO NOT BUY THIS CHAIN
Ok, So I bought this chain for my motorcycle. It look cheap and then I read online somewhere, that cheap chains are only coated with harden steel, So I took my 4ft bolt cutter and cut a link off, and it went through like butter, I DIDNT EVEN TRY HARD AND THESE BOLT CUTTER ARE OLD AND BEAT UP. After I cut the link in half you could see how the chain was plated, so after all that I went and bought a Onguard chain,, MUCH BETTER

Ok so I bought this chain because of what you get for the money, 5 1/2 ft 12mm noose chain and cover that says Bully which I like because I own a pit bull. Anyway the chain is made in China so they probably paid more for shipping than the chain. That being said I have seen a 12mm Abus cut by 3 ft bolt cutters but 12mm Kryptonite was not, all on YouTube by Wayne Winton. PS never heard of 4 ft bolt cutters And they all fall to the angle grinder anyway.
