Worked very well in application. I used it on the top rails of my above ground pool prior to painting with marine paint. Has held up well all summer long and hoping it will continue to do so for several more years.

Please read before you buy
I will now have to spend 3ish days sanding down to bare wood and Valspar knew it would happen. I have over 2o years refinishing furniture and high end cabinets. I called Valspar to see what I needed to buy to primer over polycrylic covered cabinets. I followed directions. TSP>Wash>Liquid Deglosser>Wash>Dry>Valspar Primer> 24 hour dry>Valspar Primer> 24 hour Dry> Paint. Now here is where the problem is, I went to sand between coats and it chipped all the primer off. I called Valspar and asked what went wrong. The first person walked through and said, yes, that is exactly how I should have done it. Great, but why is it coming off. She sent me to the next guy. He said everyone else is wrong, this can NEVER go on anything other than bare wood. I said it says on the can glossy surfaces, he said yes, glossy wood. I read to him the instructions from VALSPAR that I followed and he said those do not work. Obviously. I asked if it is going on wood, I wouldn't need the primer, he said, yes, I could skip that step all together. He blew it off and told me to sand back down to the wood and try again. Obviously, I will not use this primer. WHY did no one tell me this when I called before I bought it, when I called while having a problem, etc. 3 calls for someone to tell me to not use their product for it's sole intended purpose. Note the image was done with my polished finger nail, my polish did not chip. Now, I have to go cry in a corner and spend the next 3 days sanding back down to wood.

Best Paint On The Market
I am a certified paint specialist and interior Decarater. It's the only product I would use. Valspar paints also known as LOWES.

Waste of money and time.
This stuff does not do what it's supposed to do. It leaves streaks, it gums up, it causes big globs to collect on edges like glue on a child project and when you try to sand it down it comes right off. I sanded down to wood and have resanded and tried touching up 3 times now and still ended up with the same outcome. It does not adhere to bare wood even after 24 hours of drying. I bought it at Lowes to prime my cabinets before painting them. It was supposed to save me work and it has done nothing but cause me a lot more and cost me more money $26 vs $14 for regular primer.

Primer goes on in streaks and brush stroke is a gritty gummy mess.
I bought this at lowes. I had already did all the hard work of cleaning a sanding blowing off sand and wiping down again, but still wanted to do the recommended primer coat for best results. This primer was thick but as I was priming the paint started gumming up on the brush and as I brushed the paint was rubbing off instead of on. Like dirtying skin rubs off your skin. I continued anyway since this product was rated so high. It did not go on smooth either it left streaks. Tomorrow I will have to sand it all off and start over again. I wish I could warn the whole world not to buy this product. I hate to think of anyone wasting this kind of time and energy for nothing

Junk
Horrible product for kitchen cabinets. A Lowes associate told me this is what i needed before applying paint. This stuff chips off so easy! Its thick. But that just means thicker paint chips. And yes i sanded before applying. I put two coats on thinking that would be better. Nope! Total garbage!

Not for glossy finishes
I found same results as others, after a light sand , TSP cleaning this bonding paint did not stick to the old cabinet high gloss oil based paint finish. I also now have to sand everything back down to wood. This product does not do as advertised
