works and fits great
this brace works period. it gives the support where my foot needs it, and permits good enough movement in the plane that does not need support.i am a basketball player, and i developed a Posterior Tibialis tendonitis from several ankle sprains. and my ankle was hurting as hell for 6 months, nagging pain. no fracture, just wear and tear of the tendon. so the my Orthopedic Doctor prescribed me this Malleoloc brace, and in 2 - 3 weeks time of bracing it and of course i rested away from basketball in those weeks, and it is all good now.the Good thing about this brace is that, aside from the things i mentioned in my first statement, it fits well inside the shoe! the ankle braces i bought in walmart before, the foam with velcro does not fit good inside the shoe. sure you can fit it if you adjust the laces but when you run and play i felt uncomfortable with it especially on the arches.with this Malleoloc, it holds the sides of your ankle but in the arches it is not bulky. and i can play basketball with this one on my ankle.BUY IT!Cons: price - but you get what you pay for, quality materials

doesn't work for me
The new revised malleoloc hurts my ankle, since it is solid plastic at the bone. Not flexible at the sole either. I will wear my old style ones until they fall off. As it is, I stop and have to re-velcro a couple of times during a tennis match, but they are so cool and stable. I have worn 2 pairs of the old style for 8 years. But, I have already returned the new style ones, and lost shipping costs.

Straps
The straps are stiff to use. Hard to use it one handed.

Comfortable, light, low-profile ankle brace giving excellent support for a weak ankle
I used this ankle brace years ago while recovering from a bad ankle sprain. It is very comfortable, light and not too bulky, fitting in sneakers and loose flats. It gives excellent support and I was able to walk through sand dunes on a trip to Jordan with no damage to my still fragile ankle. I recently purchased the right ankle version due to severely spraining my other ankle. It wasn't useful at first as there was too much swelling for it to fit comfortably and tightly but now that the swelling has mostly gone down I am finding it excellent support now that I have come out of a full walking boot and becoming mobile again despite my ankle still being extremely weak.

it works
yes, it's overpriced. yes, it's a bit uncomfortable. yes, i'd buy it again because it stops my ankle pain when i walk. be sure to put it on correctly and then cut the padding off the bottom so that just the plastic goes under the foot. this helps it be a lot more comfortable. i would give it 5 stars if it was a little cheaper.

Very odd & painful fit.
I did not think this was a good buy or fit. It's just plastic, Velcro & foam. It was too stiff & pressed into my ankle so painfully. The curves & bends were not in the right place

Perfect for my hairline ankle fracture
I am a woman with a small foot and ankle (shoe size US 5.5). I sustained a hairline fracture near the base of my R tibia (outside ankle area) after falling down stairs. This brace was perfect for the stability I needed. The ortho doctor sent me home in a full lower leg boot which was overkill, extremely uncomfortable and abandoned after an hour. I went online and after lots of searching found this brace. It is perfect … a bit too thick to wear with my small shoes but fine with a slide-on sandal. Keep in mind I have a petite foot and ankle and this was just a hairline fracture. It may not be enough stability if your ankle issue is in a different category. Great quality materials … highly recommend if you have a similar incident. I’ve been using for 6 weeks and will continue till fully healed = no pain!! And it actually feels good to wear … like an ankle hug☺️

Horrible construction - definitely not what they used to be
I recently needed to replace a Malleoloc ankle brace. It was 20 years old (yes, it lasted that long), and the only reason I needed to replace it is that it FINALLY started to come apart. The velcro was even still good!). When I received the product, I opened up the box and found the images below - the padding is COMPLETELY COMING OFF THE BRACE! Given the high cost of just one brace, how on earth is that acceptable?? This is after I had already purchased one two years ago, and the clip at the bottom broke off and I lost it. I figured that first one was a fluke, and therefore didn't pursue a replacement. However, after this last purchase, I am horribly disgusted at the lack of quality in this product now. The original brace design and construction was amazing, now it can't even handle being shipped - how am I supposed to trust that to protect my ankle??
