Wood-Framed Black Dry-Erase Board (24 x 36ins)

Apparently this product is listed as a toy and not infrequently used for cafe menus and such, but I'd recommend it to other academics, students, etc. who like to brainstorm in front of a dry-erase board but find whiteboards visually loud, particularly for a home office.The frame is significantly nicer than I expected it to be. A simple, muted, pale wood, not overly lacquered, a pleasant contrast to the melamine surface, which is indeed jet-black as advertised.Be advised that the 24" x 36 " measurement refers to the entire board-plus-frame ensemble, and not to the writing surface.So far, wipes clean easily; we'll see how it ages.Comes with some helpful cursory instructions/suggestions for use and cleaning. I've had good results so far with the "orange neon" expo dry-erase marker, which translates onto this board as more of a gold hue, thankfully.

I love the look of a chalkboard but can't stand the sound of writing on it, and I'm allergic to chalk. I was excited to find this black dry erase board and I'm very pleased with it so far. EXPO neon markers do well writing on it and the board was easy to hang, and erases nicely, too.

I have had this board for about three years. It has yet to brake! Which is really saying something because I have a 4-year-old that likes to use it as a slide. When I first got the board it didn't erase very clean but I haven't purchased a dry-erase board that hasn't had this issue. I think it they just need to be "broken in". I love using those wet chalk markers because they look vibrant. I use the board to help me visual homework problems. Works great.

This blackboard is terrible. I've given it some extra time to "break in", but honestly it hasn't helped.Firstly, it came out of the box with a giant flaw in the board; a huge crack in the writing surface was visible where it was either damaged in shipping or simply painted over a knot in the wood. I occasionally draw over this with black permanent marker, which works well enough to hide it if you're not really trying to look.The board is way too shiny at any angle other than straight-on. The crayons and markers available for black surfaces are not as vibrant as those available for whiteboards, so you need all the contrast you can get; this manufacturer's paint is simply too reflective and glossy to be any good at providing that deep black you really need to make the other stuff "pop".I will be looking to replace this board in the future; when I do, I will spend a bit more money for a better product, and you should too.

In short, get the mini erasers for this board so you can rest them on the rim.According to the product description:"Hardwood-frame includes slot for holding markers; Nylon Cord installed on back for easy hanging"I was expecting that if I had enough room to rest a large marker, the large eraser would also work.

I was expecting it to be magnetic and was surprised when it was just a black dry erase board. However, for the money, it does what we need. Neon dry erase markers look great on the board.

its good but it hard to use the right marker because you can't even see the color marker you use... i use red but i can't see the red i put on there..

Use this in our front room at work. It is so much easier to see than a regular dry erase board or chalk board. By far, this was the best price I found. It is really easy to clean, even if I leave the same message up for months.
