Had this up and running in about 15 minutes with no problems. The driver software used client side is slightly annoying in that you have to connect / disconnect from the device manually, but it's easier than going into the office to plug in the usb cable. Only downside is the lack of remote USB drivers for Linux, but it lists as much in the description and on their website.

I bought this to remotely connect to an external USB sound card (Signalink USB) for amateur radio. While the SILEX device is well designed and well documented, it wasn't until things were not working and I had spent several hours troubleshooting did I learn from their website that this device was not rated to handle high speed asynchronous USB data (webcams, sound cards, etc). In addition, the wireless bandwidth was insufficient to handle more than 1 USB 2.0 device without high latency and device dropout.However, I liked the SILEX design and concept, so I returned the 3000 wireless and purchased the 4000 wired product. Its more powerful processor and gigabit Ethernet connection easily handles asynchronous USB devices and the 6 other USB devices connected via a USB hub. If you must have a wireless USB server, don't overload this item or use an asynchronous device. If that is required, spend extra and buy the 4000 model.

Nice product

I was taking a chance. I got this to allow me to talk wirelessly to a microcontroller demo board (12Mps USB 2.0) sending me accelerometer, gyro etc. data continuously. I'm not sure how fast the actual data rate is, but I'll update this when I find out. The tool worked great. The directions were clear and complete. The drivers and software did just what they said they would. Got everything hooked up and talking in a couple hours. Thank you Silex!
