Little Colorado Personalized Natural Step Stool

This is an attractive, quality step stool, which is made from solid Pine--how refreshing! (It may be the only one out there.) It is very sturdy, well-constructed, well-designed and easy to assemble. Had no foul odor upon receiving. We absolutely love this stool.Unfortunately it is nearly 3 inches shorter than the KidCraft stool made of MDF (engineered wooden sheets that are glued together), which we also ordered and is the tallest stool out there. Additionally in contrast to Little Colorado, the KidCraft was challenging to assemble and was crooked/imbalanced/rocked after assembly (we thought this was a fluke, so ordered another one and it did the same thing) and had to be left outside to air out for 3 weeks before the super gnarly odor disappeared. (And I mean strong.) Unfortunately we had to keep the KidCraft because we have high sinks and a petite daughter. (The rickety nature of the KidCraft stool settled after a week or two and is now fairly balanced.) We kept the Little Colorado--the far superior stool of the 2, in every way--for another bathroom and to use as she grows a bit taller. (Then we will ditch the KidCraft.) She still loves using the Little Colorado, even if it is too short for her. If it were bigger, we would have returned the KidCraft in a heartbeat.Also--the sizing on the Amazon listing of "Child" and then "2" is confusing, as there is no explanation of any difference or other options/sizes on the listing. I ordered the "Child" version in Natural through Amazon Prime, which was more expensive, thinking it would arrive sooner. It was drop shipped from Little Colorado and took 7 days and not 2 days even on Prime, so you might as well order it directly from the company--which I believe is option "2," for a much cheaper price, $10 less.Little Colorado, if you can also make a solid pine stool in a larger size that matches the KidCraft in size, you will have an unbeatable product on your hands and thousands of happy customers! Thank you for making such a quality, affordable product in solid wood. Please make a bigger version! :)

I am a sucker for a simple product made with care and love, and this wonderful little stool is just that. In a world of throwaway junk, I do what I can to surround my family with things that have substance, and Little Colorado's attention to minimizing their environmental footprint in production and packaging is an added bonus. That a step stool can be one of my daughter's favorite possessions speaks volumes to its quality and appeal. Getting to see her use it to (literally) reach new heights as she grows more independent every day, means that this warm little stool is tied to some of my most cherished memories. It may cost a little more, but for me it's the difference between finding a temporary solution and buying an heirloom.

this is perfect for my 2 year old grandson...a little added height for hand washing, brushing teeth etc. but I will say that it is on the small size, and lager children (4 year olds & up) may find the steps too small. I ordered the natural, as I had trouble w/paint peeling on the childs adorondack chair I purchased last year.

Sturdy, no rough edges at all, sleek and looks nice too. We added a quickly built extra base as our little one was a wee bit too short...but in no time she'd grown enough to not even need the base. It's great that she can reach the faucet and sink to brush teeth and wash hands.

I don't understand all the great reviews about this stool. It's great that it is made of solid wood, with a nice finishing, but apart from looking good, it lacks of function. The steps are so thin, that my 3 year old little feet did not fit. The design does not make it stable. It wobbled several times as my son was going up. My son loved the look of it, and didn't want me to return it, but the last time that the thing tipped, he himself told me it was ok to send it back. And I did. I found it very unsafe.

Beautiful stool, good quality. Steps are a little narrow.

It's a bit small, but very well made.

Sturdy step stool. Perfect height for my son to reach our high vanity.
