This product comes with two sets of ear plugs. Only the white set (higher decibel) has a string attached to it - for reducing loss and for safety. The other set did not have a string. While trying on, we inadvertently pushed one of the stringless-plug too deeply into the ear. Thank goodness, we were able to take it out with a trizzer. Gave us a scare.

They work really well for just quieting the noise without distorting it -- for example, I was in a loud place with my kids, and it just toned down the outright loudness, but I could still hear distinct talking around me. Normally I'm terrible with hearing speaking when there's a lot of background noise, so that was nice. My only complaint is that it feels like the ear plugs create suction in my ears rather than just sitting nicely and comfortably inside of them -- they take some fiddling to get to just the right spot without the suction feeling. If I barely tap them into place it mostly works, but then I worry they'll fall out. Overall, still worth purchasing. I was able to spend a couple hours in the loud place with my kids, without leaving there hating my life and wanting silence forever.

The just muffled background noise like a fan, or a low radio. But can still hear people talking.

I like the using the blue ones when I wash my hair. I don't use the rope/string, however, because I have waist length hair and get my hand caught in it. The plugs stay put. I used the clear ones when I went to the movies. Loud sounds can lead to dizzy spells. These muffled it to a tolerable level. They're comfortable to use. I think my ear canals may be smaller than some, so I had no issue with them "getting lost" in my ears.

I'm a musician, and a racetrack photographer. I play in a band where I am directly in front of a drumset. These earplugs fit my needs perfectly. They reduce the excess noise without blocking everything out, which is great for me as a musician. I love them! I highly recommend them.

The media could not be loaded.  The silicone on these earplugs have a nice give to them, so they can easily conform to your ear size. While I find that the white version seem a bit too big and long, I regularly use them because they really block noise at the level that I need. I live near an airport so mid-afternoon naps used to be more of mid-afternoon rest as I couldn't get over the noise from airplanes using high density foam earplugs. You have the option to cut a bit of the steam, but it hasn't bothered me enough. I can still hear noises like my alarm and my toddler, but in a soothing/flat way.For days when I just need less "help" blocking out noises, I use the black version. Which I find a bit small in my ears meaning that I have to push it in a bit more than I would like.I keep the carrying case by my bed and it's proven very useful.In short, I'm in between the earplug sizes but they work really well and I've used them for about 2 months now. Simple cleaning with vinegar (to avoid harsh chemicals) does the trick.
