Pre de Provence Marseille Olive Oil Ceramic Soap Dish, Keeps Bar Dry and Protects Countertops, 4.3" Square

I stumbled upon this soap and my intrusive thoughts got the best of me thinking it would be a great idea to have a giant cube as my bar soap for when I shower. Now, I have small hands and this bar of soap is actually like twice the size of a regular bar of soap, because it's a cube. I drop it all the time, but I love using it because it's so unwieldly to use. It's got a nice tactile feeling to roll around in your hands, and you can survey guests to see how they approach the soap bar which makes for a great social experiment. Some people, such as myself, will roll the cube around like a ball, slowly wearing down the corners. Some people will wet their hands and kind of just rub the top, or they'll sandwich it between their two hands and rub the sides with both hands. It's kind of fun. Also since it's so large, I feel like it will last quite a while.Now the soap itself is gentle and cleansing; it feels like it cleans really thoroughly without actually drying out my skin. I have sensitive skin and it seems to really love this soap, both for body and face. There isn't much of a scent to it besides what I can describe as just a "light, clean scent" which is great for people who may be sensitive to fragrances.

My favorite counter soap for the kitchen. Youcan use it for everything….even veggies. Leaves your hands and anything else squeaky clean. One block lasts forever. Can be cut into smaller chunks.

The media could not be loaded. As described as large cube of dish detergent i paired with an eco friendly cleaning kit as seen in video. Very little effort maximum suds! Zero harsh smells or skin irritation. I actually really love this!

It's ok if you just want it for decoration. It's very awkward if you actually want to use it. It's big and bulky.

One star removed for bad packing. I read the reviews, so expected a banged up block of soap. It's so unfortunate that they refuse to protect this very expensive soap. I bought it for dish washing, so don't care about the dents, and it wasn't too dented to use so I kept the bar. My initial thought regarding the scent was that it smelled like old cooking oil. Unpleasant. However, I let it air out for a while outside of the plastic and it ends up smelling like Dr. Bronners or other unscented soaps. It works remarkably well. I have soft water so your results might be different. I put it in a soap dish, I rub the washcloth, or glass sponge directly on the soap block, and just one swipe washes several dishes. No soap residue left on the dishes. To soak dishes in bubbly water, just hold the block under hot running water and it will give you a sink full of soapy water. The bubbles don't last as long, but the dishes still get a soapy soak. It's a very hard block so I'm hoping it will last a long time and I'll update after it runs out. It's made in France. Comes in a plastic wrap, and a paper box.

I have tried over six dish bars and this one works the best. It is a little pricier than the others but lasts longer. Smells fine and is not harsh on the skin. The size of the bar is large and does not get as flimsy as fast as some of the smaller dish bars.

So nice! Maybe not best for heavy duty jobs but most things it works well.

I have not tried this soap on my hands as it smells like rancid vegetable oil out of the box. I am so put off by the scent that I can’t imagine a use for it. It is aesthetically pleasing, but that won’t matter sitting in a cabinet. Total bummer.
