I purchased this item as a gift for someone in my family. I can't say whether it's sturdy enough for the laptop.

I bought this for a teenager who uses it daily for school. It’s been through a lot (as with most messy boys.). It’s now a bit tattered but the case is still intact. The material is soft and protective and fits the laptop, charger, and small mouse as needed. The side pockets are useful. I am choosing to buy it again. It’s sturdy enough to survive 2 hard years and still looks decent.

for $7.99 i did not expect much even after reading the positive reviews. i ordered the gray color which is exactly as pictured on my computer. my MacBook air fits in nicely. the storage flap on both sides is secured with velcro. the soft handles make it convenient to carry and/or pull out of a suitcase. i will not use it that often so it will be imminently durable for me. the soft exterior does not feel flimsy so it should hold up to extended use. the quality is excellent for double the price.
