Dirty Yaks Red Marble Whiskey Stones

Not worth it!!! Tiny rocks, not worth it!

This is a great set of whiskey stones that is both functional and stylish! I ordered the "red marble" whisky stones. Each stone is a cube that is approximately .75 inch in each dimension. The marble is polished and the edges and corners are rounded to prevent scratching your glasses. After chilling in your freezer for about an hour these are ready to go! Just plop 2 or 3 in your whisky glass to quickly chill your drink without watering it down. Who wants to spend big $$ on premium Scotch only to water it down and change the taste....using ice you might as well throw out the last ounce or two. Using these stones your drink remains cool and consistent while blissfully sipping away! I like the "clink, clink" of these stones in a crystal glass, and the red marble looks great sitting in the bottom of a finger or two of fine Scotch. There are nine whiskey stones in total, which gives me enough for three drinks (as I use three per drink). Also included is a small felt drawstring pouch to contain the stones. Simply put the stones in the pouch, the pouch in a crevice of your freezer, and these are at the ready! Everything comes packaged in a stylish black box suitable for gifting to your favorite Scotch/Whisky "enthusiast." Recommended! Eh.. Looks cool, but it doesn't cool a drink down. Barely helps even when the whiskey is store in the freezer, and put in a frosted glass.

These are very nice whiskey stones. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the box (not the shipping box, the actual box the stones came in) was damaged and these were a gift.

My boyfriend absolutely loves these. They last through out a drink. He puts about 4 in, and by the time he is done he switchs them. I have even used them with my wine.

I wish that I had gotten these much much sooner than now. These are so useful - I can enjoy cocktails without worrying about my drink getting diluted. Especially now that it's summer, drinks just don't stay cold for very long; have to keep adding ice to keep it chilled but then the ice melts, completely throwing off the flavor of what I'm drinking.There's a total of 9 stones that come in a good looking box (come prepackaged in something that is gift worthy). Inside the box are the 9 stones as well as a velvet drawstring storage bag. Each stone is rounded on the corners and edges. The stones are a marbled pink in color - elegant and classy.With regard to effectiveness - these are not going to get your drink super cold. They will however chill or cool your drink down substantially (in my mind that does make these perfect for simple mixed drinks such as bourbon & coke, whiskey & coke and vodka tonics. I wouldn't recommend these for iced teas or other "regular" drinks.Please note that you want to freeze these stones inside of their bag (for at least 3 hours). I made the mistake of just throwing these stones into my ice maker compartment - the stones ended up sticking to the ice cubes, which negated the whole point of having them.Overall, these are really good for chilling your drinks but not good for those of you who want really cold drinks - they just won't cool the liquids down that much. I do really like these and will be using them (3 cubes at a time) in my mixed alcoholic drinks.I hope you found this review useful.I was able to purchase this item at a substantial discount in exchange for a thorough and honest review.
