Multi-instrumentalist and sci-fi prog-rock explorer A.E. Paterra returns with his second proper full length as Majeure. Following closely on the heels of his beloved but scarcely limited split album with fellow Zombi cohort Steve Moore, Solar Maximum expands on the cinematic, atmospheric vision alluded by his 2010 debut album, Timespan. Once again composing, performing, and producing the entire album, Paterra broadens the Majeure cosmos with an increased focus on moody synths and an almost inhuman level of patience in the payoff.

MAJEURE en long-player
Premier véritable album de Paterra (cerveau droit du duo ZOMBI qu'il forme avec Steve Moore) après une poignée de split LPs et de maxis, dont le dispensable "Brainstorm". Et la confirmation d'un talent d'écriture pour des compositions electroniques cinématographiques marquant une dévotion obsessionelle pour les B.O signées John Carpenter ainsi que pour Tangerine Dream, époque "Stratosfear" ou "Phaedra". Tout en synthés analogiques (Moog,Korg et Roland), en nappes et en surcouches de mélodies qui ne se phagocitent jamais entre elles mais crèent une construction complexe emmenée par une batterie nuancée, stylée, caractéristique du jeu de Paterra. Ce premier album est une réussite incontestable et se doit de rejoindre toute discothèque de fans de ZOMBI et consorts.A noter que la masterisation de cet album est signée James Plotkin (Scorn, OLD, Khanate), impérial comme à son habitude.

Gefällt mir
Straight angelegte dicke Synthesizer Sequenzen mir durchgängigen Drums. Deswegen habe ich mir dieses Album gekauft, weil dies auch schon das Prinzip von Anthony Paterra in seinem vorherigen Album Timespan war, und damit ganz meinen Geschmack trifft.
