I looked for awhile through many a review on several different watering timers. I looked at the lower priced timers which looked like they would get the job done for a reasonable price. But they had an Achilles heal, a weak spot in their design. They would break off at the hose connection with no way to repair them. Now your out a fair amout of money with no support from their companys.That being said. This watering time was a bit more in price. With everything I read about it, it worked just as expected. The setup was effortless. I comes with its own Zigbee gateway that has a great distanceI've only used it for this first year. It says it has a 2 year battery life. That is yet to be determined.I found the app to be very easy to use, which you can start your watering from anywhere, meaning when your not at home. While some of the other watering systems connects via Bluetooth to your phone which has a very limited range. So you must be at home and within range to control your timer, not useful.I found the app easy to set up scheduled watering cycles. The app also watches your local weather forecast so if your going to have rain for any give period or say a week straight this system will see that and not over water your garden or beds. Well not water at all actually. Granted it's not foolproof, but what technology is these days. I say it's a great start.Overall I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. I do plan on adding another for my flower beds for next year. This one was used to water my vegetable garden, You can also monitor and control more than one unit from the same app.I suggest if your looking for a dependable and durable watering system that works as it should. You should give this one a try

Right now I am using a four port programable timer for my back yard watering. They are good but I want better so I started looking at Amazon for other options I saw Bluetooth activated ones but their range is limited although I have a small back yard the water outlet timers would be in different locations and probably would not be reached from one stationary location. Then I came upon the Link Tap G1S which would be perfect for my needs, I purchased the timer and gateway. Here is where the fun comes it worked as advertised (big shock) first I set up the gateway which was the easiest I ever had with Wi-Fi equipment in a few minutes it was working and connected, my next step was to set up the water timer and in less than a Minuit it was connected, then I moved the water timer to every spot in my back yard that I will be placing one or more timers ran the connection test and all had passe the test with flying colors. I am in the process of buying 6 more over time as I get the water lines set up. FYI the gateway is the middle of my house and the timer furthest away is 45 feet through quite a few walls. Another great feature is I can program it to get my local weather report and will not water if it is raining or in the process of raining, saving me money. Another great feature is I will be placing a timer on my pool pump drain valve so when the real heavy rains come, I can drain the overflow without going out and getting soaked.The manufacturer is !00% in their advertising I can turn on the timer from anywhere with my phone.This Link Tap system is the best thing since sliced breadUPDATE 9-1-2022You cant find a better product then the LINK TAP don't waste your money on other brand's.1) It is a well made product.2) The App is the best out there, easy to use , simple to follow and has not failed on me yet and I doubt if it will.3) the support is excellent! I have contacted them ona few occasions and had an answer the next day that was spot on resolved the issue. Tap Link supports their product completely I did land up with a defective unit and their responce was "we are shipping you out a nre one" and you will have it in a few days.I wish all companies were like Tap Link.

I bought this after I returned an Orbit 21004 B-hyve Smart Hose Faucet Timer because it was unreliable (if it worked at all) and had no live customer support.This product is the exact opposite. Their customer support was pro-active, sending me an email to check on the timer's performance. Even better, I have not had to use their support yet because the timer has worked flawlessly thus far.One of the best features of this product are the notifications. When I wake up in the morning, my phone's notifications reveal that the timer has come on and gone off on schedule. And even more important, I get notifications when the timer hasn't operated as expected. I often use the manual timer from my phone, and sometimes there is a network issue preventing my instructions from reaching the timer. If the timer doesn't operate as expected, I get a notification, so that I can send the instructions again. This saves me a lot of time by giving me the confidence to operate the timer remotely without having to verify that it is operating correctly.The phone app is great, offering a large number of options and variability for automatic watering as well as remote manual watering.So far, this timer has worked flawlessly, with the only issues coming from my network and not the timer itself.
