Does this produce a blue light or is it a white light with a blue shell?

There IS a blue light inside as well as a red light, but that's just the charging indicator on the PC board inside, and is not used to illuminate. The main LED in the front is white only. The side lights are two white LEDs for "lantern" mode or a white light attention flasher (3 flashes, pause, 3 flashes, pause, 3 flashes, and so on), and a single UV (ultraviolet) LED for night-sight preservation, and to "charge up" the glow in the dark shell, which glows blue. The white side lights will charge the shell glow, but not nearly as well as the UV light. After a couple of minutes of the UV, the case will glow enough for night-adjusted eyes to see well enough to walk around a dark room or outdoors and avoid obstacles, but is not bright enough to read effectively. The blue glow shell is NOT as bright a glow as the A5's green glow shell, because the blue glow pigment is not as powerful as the green glow pigment in A5's plastic.  The A5's green glow is similar to that of a UV Paqlite's mini Tooblite product. The A7's blue glow is about 60-70% as bright, but I like it more than the green.

I own the A7, and carry it constantly, except while charging it, on a double-length bead chain around my neck, clipped on using a small S-biner hooked to the tail end. I don't recommend just threading the chain through the tail hanger, as you have to remove the chain to hold it and use it, while with an S-biner you just have to unhook it from the chain. It's light enough and unobtrusive enough that I wear it all the time, even while sleeping, which makes it a VERY useful "what was that sound?" flashlight when something goes thump in the night. The only thing I wish was that the main turbo dazzler strobe was easier to get to quickly, as that would make it easier to deploy defensively. But the steady turbo beam is VERY painful to have shined in your eyes, especially when they are night-adjusted.

So they clearly lie about lumens. This is the second review for a 650 lumens advertised flashlight but they answer questions saying 550 lumens. Why do the Chinese always feel the need to lie to us?
