Pentair 178578 Almond Bottom Tank Assembly Replacement Pool and Spa Filter

This was a perfect fit as it was an OEM part. Only issue i had was with a new rubber gasket that as bought separately and not a OEM part was too small but just used the original.

Easy install and fits perfectly. I highly recommend when you need to clean the tank water, use a shop vac to drain so you won’t strip the fiberglass threads when reinstalling the drain plug.

Great solution if you have a newish upper tank but like me, were too cheap to buy a whole new filter back when you bought that

Don’t pay a pool company to replace this! My pool filter is in its 9th summer in Texas. The filter housing base developed a crack and I knew it had to be replaced. I found this and bought and I am SO GLAD I did. It fit my quad de filter perfectly with the old lid and o-ring. I took the opportunity to clean the cartridges but the install itself takes about a half hour. Make sure to have some silicone grease for the o-rings on the inlet and outlet pipes and have some pvc plumbing thread sealant for the new threads, but that’s all you need with your tools and you’ll be thrilled you didn’t pay someone to do this. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Same as other reviews although our original lasted longer. Had two cracks in the ribbed part of the lower. Great price to be able to replace the lower assembly and not the entire unit. Fast shipping from vendor and solid product.

comes with filter mount for 4 elements but 1/2" tube in center not included fitting unions order o rings seperate great fit

As others have stated the bottom is slightly larger, 1/8" to 3/16", which does not allow the top to fit correctly. Very poor manufacturing process to allow this. Now, I either have to spend more money and replace a top that doesn't need replaced and hope it fits, or get a replacement bottom unit and waste money, time, and more importantly water while the old unit continues to leak.
