A Buddhist Experience
This DVD is a musical, emotional, visual, and deeply spiritual journey through the Sukhothai Historical Park, an ancient Buddhist shrine complex located in Northern Thailand. The way Bradfield "guides" us through all of these "tours" is to slowly and gently bring the consciousness into the sacred space (beginning with the very opening credits), and then allowing an in-depth intimate experience with each blessed locale. I found this to be a wonderfully expansive approach. I personally ended up feeling as though I had actually visited these places. And, more so, that I had communed with each of these noble spirits. I somehow feel part of an incredibly beautiful & peaceful family, now. There is a comparably small, yet beautifully presented portion concerning the monks and temples of Tibet. What people don't realize about the Himalayas is that they are the true tortured soul of the Earth. To create such magnificent mountains, incredibly harsh tectonic conditions had to be present. So, in some sense, the Tibetan monks live at the very heart of some of Earth's greatest pain. And therein, they cultivate some of the Earth's greatest Love. I find this an incredibly powerful juxtaposition in metaphor, myself. Everything about the lives of these beautiful people is full of powerful grace, potent gratitude, and playful gaining of wisdom. And, at the heart of the Earth's deepest pain is some of her most astonishing beauty - landscape and people inclusive.Though I find all the Buddha Spirit music very meditative and expansive, in this case, the combination of truly soul-resonant music and thoroughly awe-inspiring photography very definitely moves me into that more refined space and state of being. The beauty of the pictures is just so astoundingly stunning. Combined with the sheer power of the music, there were actually portions that literally took my breath away and others that made me want to cry for sake of their pure elemental magic.
