Another beautiful Helena story.
As with always with a Helena Hunting read this book drew me right in and didn't let me out again until I was finished again. The only complaint I could have would be its rather short... but no matter how long her stories are I will always be gutted when they finish so maybe that's just me lolThis story is all about Jake (Queenies dad) and Hanna (Kingstons momster) and what happens when they end up with an unexpected shock after spending time together to plans a wedding. As usual this is told in a dual POV so you manage to feel all the emotions from all sides of their journey... and we couldn't forget the usual banter that's usually involved with Violet and crew are around hahaLove being in any of Helenas hockey worlds and having catch ups with the gang!Would always recommend but only after reading the previous books for this series.

Sealed with a kiss
Jake & Hanna’s life / relationship is complicated. Hanna is ‘Momster’ to Jake’s son-in-law Ryan Kingston. Walking his daughter down the aisle meant the end of their secret, passion fuelled relationship. Just too complicated when your kids are married, no matter how much chemistry you have. But the secret doesn’t stay secret when Hanna finds out she is pregnant with Jakes’ baby when she returns to Seattle 3 months after the wedding for Queenie’s birthday celebrations.Emotions are raised with a high-risk pregnancy and unusual relationship dynamics. This could have been fraught with angst, but experience and age bring reason and thoughtfulness, the ability to act with consideration for others that comes with age & a life lived & experienced. I love the lack of miscommunication in this story, Jake & Hanna TALKED to each other. This isn’t all seriousness as it could have been, there are a lot of laughs & silliness. Both Jake & Hanna have had babies young the experience of raising them couldn’t be much different. Jake raised Queenie alone. Hanna raised Ryan as his sister. Both gave up so much for their first baby, now it’s time to do it the way they want.Helena deals sensitively with the subject of high-risk pregnancy but without losing any of her usual style.

Maturity and young children does work.
Such a totally delightful story about a complex dynamics of a family group. Jake father to Queenie, and father of n law to Ryan. Hanna teenager mother to now 30 +Ryan, who thinks she is his sister, mother in law /sister in law to Queenie. Jake and Hannah’s relationship flourishes from friends to something much more. Until. The story is full of emotion, trust issues and possible white lies. The characters are so beautifully believable, and described so clearly the reader almost feels you can touch them. There is a glorious HEA, humour and sarcastic quips flow through the storyline, and this is a stand alone. The romance aspect is tender and sweet and there are many sneaky episodes. An easy well flowing read that leaves you totally sated and content. Well worth 5 stars from this exceptional author.

A promise!
Jake is happy that his daughter, Queenie is in love and marrying Ryan. What he doesn't expect is the chemistry he has with Hanna, Ryan's older sister who is actually his mum. Helping with the wedding planning they grow closer together and their relationship takes a turn. What happens when they find out Hanna is pregnant? Can they find a way to make this work? Will their relationship with their children change? Can they create the family they need? This was such a fantastic read and I just couldn't put it down. Helena gave a book where the main characters are in their forties and supposedly settled, showing that HEA are still there for everyone!

A strange family dynamic but good fun
An enjoyable read. Lots of fun, sexy scenes and Ice Hockey. A strange family dynamic with this story but it works. This “All in” story is a spin off from the Pucked Series. Hanna and Jake are helping to arrange the wedding of Ryan “King” Kingston and Jakes daughter Queenie Masterson. If you’ve read previous stories in the series you should have an idea who Hanna is. Don’t want to give any spoilers. But this all leads to one very tangled family dynamic. A good, fun sexy story with some drama thrown in.

Good story
Jake is the GM of an ice hockey team having given up his chance as a player when he became a parent to Queenie and his ex didnt want her. She is getting married to one of his players and his mother Hanna is helping with the arrangements. When he and Hanna meet there is a spark of interest and they have an affair and keep it very secret from their children. He thought his time rearing his daughter was now nearing the end but fate had a way of changing his world and he needed to start looking after Hanna.

Love this story❤️
I really enjoyed this story. I have followed all the series but this one resonated more because the characters are nearer my own age and had a different set of priorities than the younger generation.I found Hanna very likeable and sweet. I felt she had a raw deal with her family life and it felt good to read about her having her say and her feelings considered and put first for once. Jake is her perfect match and could fully empathise with her situation and worries.I love HEA and JJ was the icing on the cake. I can’t wait to see what’s next xxx

4.5 stars
I really loved this book, I thought it was thoroughly engaging and heartwarming, and a perfect read for me. The two main characters - Jake and Hanna - made a lovely couple. There was real chemistry, emotional connections, heartfelt moments, warmth and drama. A romance with a 40+ aged couple is always refreshing, and has the added elements of failed relationships and difficult histories, that makes for a really enjoyable and more deeply felt romance for me.
