Takes a bit to get used to, but performs phenomenally!
Surprisingly different in how it's used compared to other spring tools, owing to the bend at the end of the tool changing how you have to leverage it to install/remove springs. It actually made me much slower at first, as I was attempting to use this the same way I would the straighter spring tools that are common. However, once you've figured out how to use it effectively, the additional leverage facilitates easier and quicker brake shoe changes compared to any other spring tool I've personally used. No complaints here.

Heavy, durable feeling, ease of use
Finally got to use this spring tool and have to say, that using other tools to hook anchor springs, that this is the better way, and once figuring how to apply this tool made the brake job a breeze on the other side. I have been a class8 and above diesel tech for about 13 years and this is one of the better tools I have bought.

Great tool
Works as intended! Makes truck drum brakes a cinch! However, in retrospect you can just use a large adjustable and pliers. However, if you have the money to shell out for this, buy it.

Worth every penny
Very well made and shaves a lot of time off of brake jobs.

Doesn't work with 12.25" Q Plus shoes
Doesn't work with 12.25" Q Plus shoes. The pins and rollers are pressed in before mounting the shoes. There is no way to get this tool to hook spring with S-cam and rollers in place.

I've been a diesel mechanic for over 30 years and I wish I had one of these from day one. Makes a HUGE difference when removing and installing brake shoes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
