39504 Vantage Select Brake System

Used BrakeBuddy Vantage for the first time going cross country. We did 5000 plus miles and it worked perfectly. Very easy to set up. Very happy with this purchase.

This was easy to set up and worked as expected

First one didn't work, but to Brake Buddies credit they replaced it immediately with a new that worked. It's a good product, when it works.

The BrakeBuddy was easy to install and worked very well on my Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep is so light I had to turn up the sensitivity on the controller. Be sure to read the entire manual and remove any floor mat you have before you put the controller in your vehicle.

Very simple to install and worked okay on a maiden voyage to Maine approximately 800 miles round trip towing a Honda CRV behind a class A motor home. Starting having some problems disconnecting on return trip, not sure what's causing it. I'm looking into a better way to keep it connected.Otherwise seems like a quality product and doing what they say it will.

I purchased the brake buddy from Amazon because the cost was good and the products they sell they probably do some research on them. I purchased it in August set it up in the car and went trough the regular required testing. When I set it up again ready to tow the vehicle it malfunctioned. The compressor lite came on and nothing would work. I called BB they said it needed to be returned to be rebuilt and they would have it back to me in a week or so. So much for needing a reliable braking system. It is illegal to not use them so should I cancel my holidays???

11/28/2016I have to apologize for the one star that I gave earlier on this product. Amazon shipped a new unit the same day I requested a replacement and it arrived today. I connected as before and started blowing fuses again. This time I by-passed the cigarette lighter and went directly to the battery and the unit performed as advertised. Apparently I have a defective lighter circuit and will need to trace that problem and probably wire another circuit to the drivers area.I want to thank Amazon and Hopkins for their excellent assistance in this matter.11/24/2016Received new unit and installed per instructions. When I plugged the unit into the cigarette lighter the lights came on and the compressor ran for a few seconds and then the fuse in the lighter circuit blew. I rechecked the installation and put in a 20 amp fuse with the same results. I then tried a 25 amp fuse with the same results. Called Brake Buddy and was told to return to Amazon. Which I'm doing now. I hope they will send a replacement now instead of waiting until I send this box off to Las Vegas.

Except for the break away, the brake buddy is easy to install and operate. Works as advertised.
