Description
- 9/11 Remembrance Rosary in a full color printed pouch.
- Rosary Size: 23"
- The Cross The symbol of the cross unites all sufferings - of any kind and of any nation - with the saving act of Jesus on the cross, giving comfort and strength. The scrap of sheet metal hanging from the arm of the cross resembles the shroud left by Jesus in the tomb after His Resurrection.
- The Centerpiece "I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live " John 11:25 Inspired by the Resurrection, the sculpture of Jesus is the heart of the work. Jesus rising from the ruins, the graves of all the victims, represents the triumph of life over death, of love over hatred. "He is not God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive." Luke 20:38 The power of this love was manifested most profoundly in the self-sacrifice of the heroic rescuers. "No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends." John 15:13
- The Beads The Hail Mary beads of the five decades of the rosary represent the fifty states of the United States of America. Each double-sided bead features Mary Immaculate of the Miraculous Medal on one side, and the name of one of the fifty states one the other, thus consecrating each state to the Blessed Mother as the rosary is prayed. The antiphon Hail Mary beads are engraved with the three letters U S A, recalling Pope Pius IX's declaration in 1847 of Mary Immaculate as "Patroness of the United States of America".
The design is inspired by the Cross that remained in the rubble at Ground Zero and by the coincidence of the total number of the fifty states of the United States of America with the number of the
Hail Mary beads of the five decades of the rosary.
"Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid." John 14:27
