BEST flashlight I've EVER owned
I don't understand why EVERY SINGLE REVIEW on Amazon (and seemingly everywhere else) always has a full range of reviews from Extremely Wonderful to a POS crap. WTF is going on??? Is it just typical random luck of the draw "Made on a Monday" good or bad luck?? It seems nonsensical. And it is really PMTFO.Anyway, this is the BEST flashlight I've EVER owned BY FAR. I had heard good things about it, and a friend had one and it seemed to be pretty nice, so I decided to take a chance spending this much on a flashlight, which for me moneywise was a big deal."Luckily" (?) I got a good one and it is wonderful. I LOVE IT. It is super bright. I like the focus to small beam or wide, and the side pull light is nice and bright and works well. I've never used the red or red blinking options, but they are a nice touch, and would come in handy if needed. If they didn't cost so much I would own several. And I bought one for my brother-in-law a couple of years ago for Xmas.I don't use it a lot, so the first time I had to charge it was about a year after I bought it. But I have noticed that when I use it not too frequently, it does need charging about once a month or so. Your mileage will vary.NOTE that it can "fail" and not charge, but after some Google InterWebs sleuthing I found out that you have to unscrew the magnet bottom to disconnect the battery and that "resets it". I had to do that to my BIL's flashlight when we thought it died, and now it is working and charging again.

Awesome
My husband had a flashlight like this for years, and it finally quit. He was so happy to have a new one. He uses it all the time, and carries it with him or in the vehicle wherever we go. It is very bright, and very handy. The magnet part is so useful.

Contact nebo for a new battery. Not swappable
I wanted a rechargeable light, and was willing to give this a shot. I have a maglite 300lx 3d led light. I thought this would be lighter and wanted the chip on board led floodlight for work I on my cars. Pros: the beam is very uniform, initial quality seems good. Cons: the 18650 battery is proprietary it has both positive and negative terminals on the same side. The microusb port is finicky if the charger has a fat connector it won't fit. If the cable gets a bad connection it will stay red (charging) when you plug it back in it will be blue with a good connection. If your job depends on having a good light I would go with a premium brand, nitecore, fenix, streamlight.. If its for walking the Dog, camping trip, or keeping in the car this might be a good choice.I wanted to get a few more battery's so I contacted nebo customer service. They sell them for 15 a piece. Klarus also has a light that uses a similar battery at 20 a piece.Overall I don't know that this light would survive to actually wear out a battery. More likely it would be dropped by then.I would probably recommend the maglite AA pro+ as an alternative if you want an american made light with a lifetime warranty and easy to find batteries.

Nice but has some noteworthy drawbacks
Nice but has some noteworthy drawbacks. First, the less than bright spots about this light (no pun). As one review mentioned, the battery is a non-standard battery. I contacted Nebo and got the low-down. It's a proprietary battery made specifically for the Skyde King. To replace the battery, you're looking at $15.00. To me, this is a conscientious design flaw and immediately takes one full star away. No matter how good this thing is and works, I can never get around why they did this. With all the 18650 3.7v batteries out there, why would they do this is just too bad. Just so you know, the + and - poles are both at one end of the battery. No matter how long the battery lasts, eventually you will need to contact them for a replacement battery. Alright enough of that...The work light is very cool, BUT when you pull it open it automatically turns on. When you do this, the first color is white and there's no way to start out directly with a red light. So there's two design problems. Why auto turn on and why no direct to red feature (like the Cryket light Nebo makes for half the price. I have one of those two...super cool light). It would have been nice if the flashlight could have red light as well as the worklight, but now I'm complaining. Lots of others have commented on the button being too easy to turn on...yeah, I'd say that's true. I'd also say in general, they way the light is programmed was not as well thought through as other Nebo lights. I kinda get the feeling that all the features it has sorta overwhelmed the software team and they just slapped it together real quick to get it out the door.Do I hate the light? No, not at all. But this is a great example of what happens when you loos sight of the attention to detail and at this price point....well, I'm looking forward to a Slyde King v2.0 to be released.

Very durable.
I drove over it with my tractor. It now has a cosmetic scar but it works perfectly!!
