An accessible and reassuring guide to childhood health and immunity from a pediatrician who’s both knowledgeable about the latest scientific research and respectful of a family’s risk factors, health history, and concerns In The Vaccine-Friendly Plan, Paul Thomas, M.D., presents his proven approach to building immunity: a new protocol that limits a child’s exposure to aluminum, mercury, and other neurotoxins while building overall good health. Based on the results from his pediatric practice of more than eleven thousand children, as well as data from other credible and scientifically minded medical doctors, Dr. Paul’s vaccine-friendly protocol gives readers • recommendations for a healthy pregnancy and childbirth • vital information about what to expect at every well child visit from birth through adolescence • a slower, evidence-based vaccine schedule that calls for only one aluminum-containing shot at a time • important questions to ask about your child’s first few weeks, first years, and beyond • advice about how to talk to health care providers when you have concerns • the risks associated with opting out of vaccinations • a practical approach to common illnesses throughout the school years • simple tips and tricks for healthy eating and toxin-free living at any age The Vaccine-Friendly Plan presents a new standard for pediatric care, giving parents peace of mind in raising happy, healthy children. Praise for The Vaccine-Friendly Plan “Finally, a book about vaccines that respects parents! If you choose only one book to read on the topic, read The Vaccine-Friendly Plan . This impeccably researched, well-balanced book puts you in the driver’s seat and empowers you to make conscientious vaccine decisions for your family.” —Peggy O’Mara, editor and publisher, Mothering Magazine “Sure to appeal to readers of all kinds as a friendly, no-nonsense book that cuts through the rhetoric surrounding vaccines. It offers validation to those who avoid some or all, while offering those who do want to vaccinate help on how to do so safely. This is a great book for anyone with children in their lives.” — Natural Mother “A valuable, science-supported guide to optimizing your child’s health while you navigate through complex choices in a toxic, challenging world.” —Martha Herbert, M.D., Ph.D., Harvard Medical School “An impressively researched guide, this important book is essential reading for parents. With clear and practical advice for shielding children from harmful toxins, it will compel us all to think differently about how to protect health.” —Jay Gordon, M.D., FAAP “Rather than a one-size-fits-all vaccine strategy, the authors suggest thoughtful, individualized decisions based on research and collaboration between parents and clinicians—a plan to optimize a child’s immune system and minimize any risks.” —Elizabeth Mumper, M.D., founder and CEO, The Rimland Center for Integrative Pediatrics “This well-written and thought-provoking book will encourage parents to think through decisions—such as food choices and the timing of vaccines—that affect the well-being of their children. In a world where children’s immune systems are increasingly challenged, this is a timely addition to the literature.” —Harriet Lerner, Ph.D., bestselling author of The Dance of Anger and The Mother Dance Review: This book was everything I hoped it would be, and so much more! - I just finished reading this whole book, and I'd give it more than five stars if that were an option. As a mom of two young boys, I wish this book had been published when I was pregnant with my first son, because I would have done so much differently. It's not just another book on vaccines. While it has incredible information about vaccines and his take on childhood vaccine schedule in this country, it is so much more than a book about vaccinations. In fact, even if someone decides to fully vaccinate after reading this book (which would surprise me), they're still going to learn a ton to help their child (and themselves) lead a healthier life if they follow even an ounce of the advice Dr. Paul Thomas and Jennifer Margulis provide in this book. I originally wanted to read this because I wanted to hear more about vaccines. I don't blindly follow the CDC schedule. After much research, I evaluate each vaccine separately, delay some, and reject some all together, so I thought this book would provide me even further direction with that. And it didn't let me down! I had read The Vaccine Book, but this book was SO much more helpful since it's a comprehensive book that discusses individual vaccinations in depth, but also a child's immunity, health, well-being, and happiness. Every pediatrician and future pediatrician should read this. For example, it makes sense that Dr. Paul Thomas recommends getting your child's titers checked with a blood test before kindergarten instead of giving a second dose of the MMR vaccine. 98% of his patients showed immunity to measles when their blood was tested, so they didn't need a second dose. Why inject someone with more toxins when not needed, especially when a titer test showing immunity is accepted for school entry. If you're the type that likes to read the "What to Expect..." series books (What to Expect the First Year, Toddler Years, etc.), you'll find that this book includes everything you'd read in those books and more. The book has sections on everything from breastfeeding to infant milestones, ideas to help your child eat healthy, and the importance of play. And while I don't yet have teenagers, I love that he wrote a whole section on what doctors talk about with teenagers when their parents are out of the room. I'll definitely be referring to this book for many years to come! I also felt like I got to be a fly on the wall during pediatrician appointments. Pediatricians do so much more than I ever imagined, and I now have even more respect for anyone in that profession! After I started reading it, I bought two extra copies and gave them away to friends. I'll be buying a few more in the next several weeks and giving them away as well. It's an invaluable resource, an easy read, an enjoyable read, and I'll go so far as to say it's probably the most useful and important book I've bought in my life. Buy it and read it. You won't be disappointed! Review: It's a good read to understand the arguments surrounding a sensitive topic. - I recently had the opportunity to read The Vaccine-Friendly Plan by Dr. Paul Thomas, and I must say, it's been a game-changer for me as a parent navigating the complex world of vaccinations. Dr. Paul's approach is refreshing, well-researched, and deeply compassionate, providing an alternative perspective on vaccination that is both informative and empowering. First and foremost, what sets this book apart is its emphasis on personalized, informed decision-making when it comes to vaccines. Dr. Paul acknowledges that every child is unique, with different health needs and susceptibilities, and his approach reflects this understanding. Instead of adopting a one-size-fits-all mentality, he advocates for a customized vaccination plan that takes into account a child's individual health history, family medical history, and risk factors. One of the most compelling aspects of The Vaccine-Friendly Plan is Dr. Paul's thorough exploration of vaccine ingredients and potential side effects. He delves into the science behind vaccines, offering clear explanations of how they work and what risks they may pose. By presenting this information in an accessible manner, he empowers parents to make informed decisions about their child's health, rather than simply relying on blanket recommendations. Dr. Paul provides practical guidance on how to implement a vaccine-friendly approach in partnership with healthcare providers. He offers valuable tips on how to communicate effectively with doctors, advocate for your child's health needs, and navigate the sometimes challenging conversations surrounding vaccination. What I appreciate most about this book is its balanced and evidence-based approach. Dr. Paul doesn't advocate for blanket vaccine refusal; rather, he encourages thoughtful consideration of each vaccine and its potential risks and benefits. He emphasizes the importance of maintaining an open dialogue with healthcare providers and making decisions based on the best available evidence. The Vaccine-Friendly Plan is a must-read for any parent who wants to take a proactive and informed approach to their child's health. Dr. Paul's compassionate guidance, thorough research, and practical advice make this book an invaluable resource for navigating the complex world of vaccinations. I wholeheartedly recommend it to parents who are seeking a well-rounded perspective on this important topic.

Wish I had it before mine were born
My son was already vaccine injured when I found this book. This book confirmed my suspicions and opened me to a new understanding of healthcare. I read more books and healed my child with detox, diet change and supplementation. Jenny McCarthy’s book Healing and Preventing Autism is a great next step. It took a few months, but I have my child back. I know everyone doesn’t get so lucky. I do not take it for granted that we were able to heal him. I now share the information I know with others so they won’t have to go through what we did. I will never forgive myself for not being informed. This was not information I found when looking online before his vaccine injury. It’s quite alarming how censored the information was I could find and what my child’s doctor DIDN'T TELL ME. After reading this read How to Raise A Healthy Child In Spite of Your Doctor by Dr. Robert Mendelsohn. He doesn’t recommend any vaccines- I don’t either! Dr. Thomas says himself that his unvaccinated patients were the healthiest. I also think he now doesn’t recommend any vaccines. Nonetheless, this book lays out which ones to definitely deny and which ones to consider getting and when to get them. He discusses possible side effects as well. All parents definitely need to read these books. They all provide very important information. Also you can do a methylation panel to check for SNPs to see if your child is susceptible to vaccine injury (I didn’t know this before). Do your research, your doctor will not do it for you. It’s a shame what’s being done to Dr. Paul Thomas for sharing the truth by the medical board in his state. Make sure to support him on Rumble and his website!

Important information for any new parent
A valuable source of truth and honesty about raising a healthy child in today's world. A must read book if you want to be able to make the best decisions about health care for your child. This book gives you the knowledge and facts so that you can make your own choices with confidence and know you're doing what is safest for your child. Dr. Paul is amazing and I'm so thankful for this book and what I've learned.

A Child and Family Friendly Healthcare System
The two authors, Dr. Paul Thomas, M.D. and Dr. Jennifer Margulis Ph.D. from Oregon have written the most child friendly health care book in decades. Their data, narratives and professional recommendations are based on sound science and 30 years of experience by Dr. Thomas with his pediatrician practice. Their citations are thorough and as comprehensive as would be expected from a paper in a Global Science Journal As the title illustrates, " The Vaccine-Friendly Plan", both authors have sound advice on which vaccinations, and at what time in each child's developmental journey, they should be administered. Along with lots of humor-filled, common sense respectful advice from a pediatrician on how to deal with babies as well as adolescents. It is remarkable to read that an MD is willing to tell young mothers and fathers that each child is unique, and may not have an immune system that can tolerate the massive vaccination schedules currently recommended by our regulatory CDC system. They are very specific about sharing data and information about reported adverse reactions that many children have experienced between 1980 and 2020 from current vaccine schedules. According to authors, most fathers and mothers do not know that the CDC only recommended 11-12 childhood vaccinations in 1983, and that today they recommend circa 59 different 'shots' and a medley of mixtures of different virus before a child is 18 years of age (Appendix B). Nor do young parents know that most vaccines come with a plethora of ingredients to preserve the vaccines' shelf-life; Aluminum, mercury, methanol, formaldehyde, thimerosal, polysorbate 80, propylene glycol and more - all with solid history of having high incidences of both short-term and long-term accumulative health risks (P. 18 lists amount of Aluminum in all current vaccines). It is common knowledge in Education that a growing cohort of school children in Western countries, especially boys, have, and are experiencing, learning and behavior issues that are tragically impacting the lives of these students as well as their families. The so-far puzzling correlation between the growth of autism spectrum and ADHD, according to authors, barely appear in children authors have supported with their Vaccine-Friendly Health care plan. In the interest of fairness, the authors and many parents have been desperate to protect their children, and mainstream MDs, according to authors, would do well to, at least, listen to the data, and to voice support for a national longitudinal control group to monitor and compare health profiles of children whose families have followed more cautious vaccination schedules with the traditional one-plan-fits-all-our-young children. They are definitely not against basic vaccination schedules, but they do cite, for example, that the HPV vaccines have been banned by Japanese Health Ministry, as well been raising concerns in Israel, and a strong comment by Utah's Southwest Public Health Department that "the risks outweigh any benefits and that it is eroding the public's trust in vaccines (p277). This book is a terrific gift idea for any expectant mother and father.

This book is an EYE-OPENER!!! I highly recommend it, for the health of your children AND of yourself!!!
VERY comprehensive book on vaccines, pregnancy thru the teens; and also about nutrition during pregnancy thru teens; diapering & potty"training"; avoiding toxins for you and the baby/child; Vitamin D, K, etc, etc. The book is written with a very reassuring voice, and clearly lets you know that even if you haven't done this type of child-rearing/precautionary parenting for your first child(ren), it's never too late to start! Every effort counts, and many efforts are cumulative! Also, this book DOES NOT recommend NOT giving your child any vaccines! It points out the FACT that the vast majority of doctors do not TRULY give "Informed Consent" when it comes to vaccines. Dr Paul gives you all the available information on each vaccine in the CDC Schedule, the pros and cons on each, and the FACT that YOU, the Parent, have the CHOICE to vaccinate or not, with each vaccine. There are some vaccines he recommends, some that he recommends you delay giving until your child is older, and some that he says are NOT SAFE and/or NOT NECESSARY for anyone at any time! Read the book to be TRULY informed! If you only have time to read "quick hits", he has summaries at the end of each chapter that are my "bare bones recommendations" to read and inform yourself with. Plans following each chapter are: * "Dr Paul's Plan for Avoiding Toxins" * "Dr Paul's Plan for Pregnancy" * "Dr Paul's Plan for Newborns" * "Dr Paul's Plan for 2-Week-Olds" * "Dr Paul's Plan for 2 Month Olds" * "Dr Paul's Plan for 4 to 9 Month Olds" * "Dr Paul's Plan for One Year Olds" * " Dr Paul's Plan for Toddlers and Preschoolers" * "Dr Paul's Plan for 4 to 6 Year Olds" * "Dr Paul's Plan for Preteens and Teens" There are also lists in the appendix to easily find: *"Dr Paul's Vaccine Plan at a Glance" * "FDA Statement on Injected Aluminum Safety" * "Science Every Parent Should Know About" * "How to File a VAERS Report (Vaccine Adverse Effects Reporting System)" * "List of Vaccine Ingredients by Vaccine" * "Ten Questions to Ask when Looking for a Pediatrician" and a comparison of the "CDC Vaccination Schedules, 1983 vs 2016" This book is an EYE-OPENER!!! I highly recommend it, for the health of your children AND of yourself!!!

A treasure for parents and a must-read for pediatricians
As a Functional Medicine practicing pediatrician, words are inadequate to describe how good this book is! After a total of 31 years in conventional pediatric practice, and another 11 years serving on the teaching faculty of a major university pediatric teaching program, I discovered the world of integrative medicine. After an intensive two-year period of reading, learning, and trying the functional Medicine approach on select patients with chronic health problems, I was stunned to discover the amazing world of healing through mostly natural means. Beginning in November of 2013 I retired from conventional pediatrics to begin a new career in Functional Medicine, becoming board certified in Integrative Pediatrics (B.C.I.P.) under the auspices of the American Association of Integrative Medicine (AAIM) in May, 2016. The process of education included reading over 100 books, attending functional medicine educational events and ultimately speaking at an integrative medicine conference, and networking and brainstorming with some of the leading Functional Medicine practitioners and authors in the field – such as Dr. William Davis, Dr. David Perlmutter, and others. Having already co-authored a book with psychologist John Rosemond (The Diseasing of America’s Children Thomas Nelson 2008), I have learned how difficult it is to write a book while practicing. The Vaccine-Friendly Plan is the book I would have written if I ever found myself able and willing to take on the gargantuan task of producing such as work as this one. I am in absolute awe of Dr. Thomas and Dr. Margulis for this masterpiece. There are only a couple of places in the entire book where I would disagree about anything, and it is without a doubt the finest single book I have ever read that I would give to or recommend to every parent of a child I have the privilege to work with. I intend to do just that for parents who ask me about recommendations for what to do about vaccines – a question I get from a lot of them since changing my career over completely to a functional medicine approach to chronic health problems. On a personal note, I identify strongly with Dr. Thomas’ description of how attending an autism conference changed his life. Attending the AutismOne conference in Chicago in 2015 changed mine – undoubtedly in the same manner as Dr. Thomas describes. Observing and hearing stories of heroic parents and their children with various forms of ASD, talking to them, hearing some of them give talks, brought me from hesitation to take on the complexities of dealing with autism to knowing that I must and would do whatever it took to prepare myself to be able to do so. This book is a treasure in that process. I cannot thank you enough, Drs Thomas and Margolis. Bose Ravenel, M.D., F.A.A.P., B.C,I.P Robinhood Integrative Health Winston Salem, North Carolina

Vaccination Education Tool
Even though this is an American book I would recommend to every new parent or prospective parent to educate yourself about what is in the vaccines and what this might mean for your child. The author has a lifetime of experience which is now multigenerational experience to observe families and the children that are having adverse reactions to these vaccines. He discusses vaccination from birth through to adulthood in a very not medical way that is easy to understand
