PALEO Friendly - PRIMAL Protein Bars by MariGold Bars (6 Coconut Rage, 6 Macarooned)

Ok, so when I first saw these, I thought, "Thank goodness, finally a protein bar that doesn't have nuts in it that's still Paleo." Then I saw the price. THEN I saw all the great reviews. I'm not one to be a cheapskate about food usually (I think it's one of the most important investments we can make in our lives, to put the right things into our bodies), but I still felt a bit old WHAT IF about the bars. I put them in my cart in the "Save for later" section and kept going back each pay day to decide if I was ready to invest and take the plunge.Finally I did. I was pretty excited about getting them, as it was such a build up. But they came quickly as I am lucky enough to live only a few hours away from where they're made here in my state - Texas.What I'll tell you first is that MariAnn is very thorough and provides great service, making sure to let you know how to get the best out of receiving the bars and storing them. She wrote personal notes on many of the things in my package which was both informative and a delight.They were in great shape when I received them. They were still cold and had been delivered to my apartment complex office, so they had been kept safely in the AC.Each bar is wrapped with care, tightly. When you open it up, there's something about the way it's wrapped that just seems like someone gave a hoot about the quality of the product and the production itself. Even the plastic they're wrapped in seems to be the right thing so you don't get the entire bar stuck to the wrapping.When I took my first bite, the deal was sealed. Yes I will keep buying these. No, they are not overpriced. You get what you pay for, and considering that I pay about $2.50 a piece for protein bars at the store, another dollar or so isn't at all unreasonable for this level of quality, care, and TASTE.They are DELICIOUS. I feel like I shouldn't be eating them, but I should! Great feeling for someone like me who is on a diet of extremely limited sugar (where I can't even eat much fruit). The Macarooned is the flavor I got and it tastes like coconut cream pie and a macaroon mixed together. It's just pure, creamy, coconutty deliciousness.These are gonna be the light of my low-sugar Paleo life and I reaaaaaally needed something like this to keep me going (nearly zero sugar plus nearly zero fruit wears on you!). But these are a joy.Spend the money and try these out. You'll be glad you did.

Product arrived wrapped in ice pack and sealed well, 4 days sooner than expected! I was not aware that they would only last one week in the refrigerator, but you can freeze them up to one year so that works just as well. I froze them immediately as I knew I would be eating them sparingly, but to my surprise, I ate 2 the first day and soon realized I could over indulge very easily. For me it is the texture that I really like. They do taste good, but will say it is somewhat of an acquired taste. I think it is because they are very low in sugar so you don't taste that sweetness that you get in most other bars. Actually since I am attempting to cut sugar, I am not unhappy with this aspect of them. The real test is when I went back to work, I had some Atkins bars in my drawer for snacking (which I have always liked very much). I ate about half of a very small bar and felt queasy in an instant. I could not eat the rest as it was way too sweet. Having said that, I ordered the Choco Walnut, and they are full of nuts and chocolate pieces and very chewy which I LOVE. The bars are small, but frankly I have found that one is quite filling if you eat is slowly and don't devour the whole thing in one bite (like my husband! lol). I know I will be ordering more very soon. I hope more flavors will be available, but nuts and chocolate are my favorite! Thank you for a great bar that is GOOD for me.. oh and my husband if he gets to them before me! (lol)

I've been looking for a quality, good tasting, and HEALTHY protein bar. I finally found it with this company. Simple yet effective ingredients. They are not too big or small. Makes a good snack an hour before or immediately after a workout for a healthy dose of fat and protein. Definitely not a meal replacement size bar, but enough to hold ya over. Took away 1 star because it should be refridgerated and it was shipped with a mere ice pack that was completely warm by the time it arrived.

So seeing all the five star reviews I thought awesome finally a good primal/ paler low sugar bar. I figured I would pay the ridiculously high price just to check it out. Well when I got them the first issue I had is opening up the bar. Maybe it's just me but they are packaged in a way that makes it hard to open. So once I got to the bar I find that they are extremely difficult to chew and swallow unless you microwave for a few seconds. But then if you over microwave they are ruined. They get all stuck in your teeth which is annoying too. Several of the bars got moldy after a few days and the rest have been sitting in my freezer. I'm waiting until I get really hungry and have no food or the zombie apocalypse comes before I eat the rest..Confused.

Absolutely incredible. For those who want a low sugar bar this is the one...for others aren't used to low sugar taste you may not think it's sweet enough.However I think they're the best protein bar. 1st because the use grass fed whey isolate protein so it's better not only for people who have trouble with lactose but everyone to digest. 2nd, the other good ingredients like coconut, l-glutamine etc. 3rd, the taste is great. Cold as a nice chewy bar or warm they taste like a dessert. 4th and most importantly, the customer service and care. The package was so nice to receive, had my name written on it with a little message. Came super fast, 2 days.By far the best bars. Cant say enough. Worth the money and really the reason for the high price is because of the shipping costs, understandbly. The fact these bars last a week in the fridge (can freeze) shows they use real food ingredients. Will buy more

There good while eating but once you swallow you get the aftertaste of stevia
