This second generation Pinuti has a thicker blade and wood scabbard instead of leather. The 21 ⅛ " single edge blade has a slight belly and terminates into an acute point making it an efficient slashing and thrusting short sword. Top section of the blade has a false edge (not sharpened) measuring 14" long to slightly lighten the 5⁄16 " thick blade. The blade thickness tapers to ⅛" an inch from the tip. Handforged 9260 steel blade is differentially tempered with hardened edge which is visible. It has a simple thick solid brass guard. Ebony hardwood handle has a hexagonal (6 sides) and is 6 ½ " long with a flared butt section depicting a stylized dragon head. Grip is 4" long. The handle is glued and pinned with brass rod to the blade tang. Pinuti is old design used by the Visayan Warriors of the Philippines. The handle and blade design are based on traditional specimen that dates back to the 1800 or earlier. Comes with a natural cream color hardwood scabbard. It weighs 1.8 lb. without the scabbard. One of the best for self defense, survival and jungle use.
