Cool (pun intended) gadget for demos
I'm making an electric circuits building block toy for a grandchild. To show results I had modules for LED, motor, buzzer, fan, vibrator, analog voltmeter, etc., when I happened upon a Peltier cooler in a science museum exhibit and thought it would be a good addition. This small TEC works well on 5V, with the temperature change apparent to the touch within a few seconds. I stuck a heat sink on the warm side, which is probably overkill. There's no fitting for mounting this, so you'll have to figure out your own, but none of the other TECs I found were any different. I made a little wood frame for it so both sides are exposed.

Works great!
Got this so I could experiment with an inexpensive 5v Peltier device that could be powered with a usb cable adapter. It works great! Works almost instantly and was effective for my purposes.
