Thumbs up from this pumping scooter commuter
I'm a pumping mom who commutes to work by subway and scooter. I needed a compact, water resistant backpack that was easy to manage and had an insulated pouch for my lunch (morning commute) and expressed breast milk (evening commute). This bag delivered in so many way: Pros: Lightweight, well padded straps, fabric looks and feels nice and spot cleans well despite being a lighter gray color, good water resistance, well stitched and constructed with external zippers that glide very smoothly. The main compartment is double zip and the laptop compartment is single. The lunch section is a decent size and keeps things cold for a long time. It's easy to clean and keeps messes in, too. I had a leaky container of pesto pasta and nothing leaked through to the main compartments or outside fabric, which was pretty impressive to me. With an ice pack it keeps my breast milk frozen in the pump bags for at least 2 hours. I stick a flat icepack and up to 4 bags right in the internal mesh pocket (keeps things tidy and protected on my commute home). The size is perfect--not too big or small. It fits my 15" laptop, phones, chargers, and a spiral 5 subject notebook with no issues. I'm able to fit both my phones (iPhone 8S in Otter box and an Samsung S10), a pen and stylus, in the internal pocket, but those pockets are a snug fit. I have some room to spare in the main compartment. Once masks are off I will definitely be able to throw a makeup bag in there. I love, love, love the card pocket on the strap! Finding my MetroCard in a snap was always a struggle for me. I spent one too many mornings in a cold sweat, frantically searching pockets, the bottom of my bag, etc, thinking it was lost for good. With this feature this is no longer the case, thankfully! Cons: The pocket layout and capacity could be better, overall. Every pocket is constructed of stitched nylon with no elastic or extra fabric for give. I would have liked to see a larger computer accessory pocket made of elasticized mesh in the computer compartment, a zip pocket in the main compartment (there is none), and a larger zip pocket under the flap. The phone and pen pockets are decently sized, but they definitely won't fit some of the larger phones on the market today. It would be nice if they added a metal D-ring to attach keys and/or an ID to. I'm using that small zip pocket under the flap because there's no other good place for them, but it's cramped. Ideally I would put sunglasses in there, but I can't because they would get scratched up. On a functional note, I thought I would like the added security of having the zipper compartment under the flap but it just makes getting things out a bit of a pain. The handle is sturdy, simple and small. I would prefer it to be a bit bigger so I could slip it over my wrist while juggling security doors, my scooter, etc. Overall, I really like this bag. I give it 4.5 stars due to to the negatives I mention above. It looks like Matien makes another bag similar to this with larger handles and an exposed external pocket. I'll probably pick that one up instead since I'm super anal retentive, but I do feel that this is a very good bag that would exceed most people's expectations for the price (~$29 at time of purchase).

Love this for lunch/ laptop bag
The product details shown on Amazon are accurate. The lunch bag section comfortably fits 7 standing soda cans. The overall size is as tall as a 5 gallon water jug. Quality made and looks nice. Two big compartments for laptop and misc. 3 zipper pockets to store smaller stuff. Great value for money. Would buy again.

Perfect for work
Cute and functional, I bike to work every day and I am able to keep my lunch cool for 6 hrs with a single slim igloo icepack, my giant coffee thermos warm in the large pocket, and my laptop snug and dry. It seems well made and the straps are comfortable, well padded and the padding doesnt drift or bunch like my previous pack did. I did treat it for extra water resistance and its held up to afternoon showers on the ride home without anything inside getting wet. I didnt like the velcro on the top flap, so I just removed it with a seam ripper and find the flap is heavy and stiff enough to stay even in wind, but it's covering a zippered pocket so no worries about losing anything in a worst case scenario. I may take the brand patch off and replace with something cute or reflective for riding in the dark in the winter, but this bag is kinda perfect for my needs and has held up fine to several months of abuse, it still looks new.

First day review. Size is great for 5'3" Fit everything
I would definitely recommend and go glad i have it but not sure it's going to scratch the itch. I bought this bc of the built-in insulated cooler compartment so I'd only have one bag vs. Rolling laptop & lunch bag. I work in a corporate office (tech) that doesn't have assigned desks or offices or anywhere to keep our personal items. Yeah it's like Hunger Games but back to the backpack. First thing it looks smart. Nice looking bag. I got gray. Well ....aside from the really cheap looking black accents straps ( which I cut so they wouldn't flap and it) I'm 5"3" 150 lbs & it's a great size for height I'm 50+ y/o Didn't look like I was carrying on small suitcase but bc it is so roomy, I think it might be too heavy for me on a daily basis. Its straps are comfortable The compartments are well placed, organized very well, and the padding seems quite sufficient. This is a great BP Of you're on the fence, a few things I hadn't thought though prior to purchase. Some things to consider if they are deal-breakers, but I'm glad I know now I'm keeping the BP so there are going to be so many times I'm going to be so happy I have a cooler in my BP. Again it's hot where l where I live. Alao it's a great looking BP that didn't break the bank. It's a clay l classy looking charcoal gray. You'll likely cut those straps to if you get it Hope this helps you. LESSON #1 follow the directions and pack lunch first. This unfortunate need doesn't allow packing the night before. Unless you don't need the "cooler" section. LESSON #2 BC it's one piece, you have to take your BP to the cafeteria or lunch room. This means you have to carry separately & you have no place to put used containers or whatever street after eating bc you carried them in separately. LESSON #3 Things in your BP get cold. One of my phones. LESSON #4 The insulation is nothing to write home about hotter l however it holds a lot. I had room leftover. Not sure this keeps good cold enough IF it's anything you'd keep in the frig. I live in the Southeast and with hot weather..... would not trust it with anything that could spoil at room temperature. NOTE: I added 2 slim reuseable ice packs from the lunch bag I have now plus food & I was not confident it kept my chicken salad cold enough. As I thought about it... kind of decided to stop eating eat. So there's that. I'm sure it was fine but not worth the risk for me. Major stuff I carried on quite easily with room to spare. Details 15+ laptop BT keyboard BT Mouse. Foam wrist rest Power cord for laptop TWO phones and USB cables Makeup gum etc Water bottle eyeglass car Antibacterial wipes COOLER TWO 1.3 cup reuseable food containers fageyogurt cup. TWO little metal cup of berries/almonds. Napkin. Utensils.

Great bag for anything
Currently Im using this bag as like an everything/to go/bug out bag. Figured with the insulated lunchbox compartment that it would be good to keep near my door and have it always filled with important survival items (Folding saw, folding shovel, 2 person tent, food mess kit, first aid, cordage, mini drone, portable charger, bear mace, telescopic fishing rod & reel, 2 knives, 2 mags of 9mm ammo, micro wood stove, and a couple other small random things like emergency fishing kit and extra pair of socks. Yes im somehow able to fit all of those in this bag at the same time lol. I did add 2 strap pouches and 1 under molle strap system to the bag so i can hold more so that does help with carrying more. Overall nice bag although I havent really gotten to test to endurance of this bag as i've only owned for 3 months, but so far its nice!

2yrs later still good, some wear now
I’ve been using this bag primarily for work or work activities for just over two years. The inside cooler section is now starting to separate. I wasn’t hiking with it or too rough though I did push it and it performed well. Here’s my review by laptop section, overall review at bottom: OUTSIDE SIDE POCKETS > The outside side pockets fit the narrow 20-24 ounce water bottles. > DOES NOT take much space from the inside size of the backpack. They stretch outwards mostly…BUT…if I had all sections packed full it would be tight to slide it back in. NOT COMPLAINING kept bottles snug when not full so not a dislike. > I would also toss small cables, pens or other little things for short-term carrying when running from point A to B and they didn’t fall out. NO DISLIKES on these > Just these recent few months the webbing is tearing/wearing in some spots better than my child's more expensive backpacks that tear within 1 school year. REAR LAPTOP ZIPPERED SECTION > It fits my work laptop, also fit an iPad OR files (not both easily) > I love that the laptop section was a separate zippered section the back side and it slid in behind the cooler section. Cooler didn’t take space from laptop section yet some issues (read on). DISLIKES: 1) wish the laptop section also had 2 zippers. When I was hurried to open or close it would have been SO much more convenient to have the 2nd zipper and not have to flip the bag around or search for the zipper. 2) wish this section had a bit more depth to fit more letter and magazine sizes. Since they don’t fit in front top when cooler is full. I way too often need to take thicker work files (specifically file folder size plus) or texts, along with the laptop behind the cooler section, the space that is there is tight wih the laptop in there. It was NOT enough for what I needed to take with me and would have to carry a 2nd bag. When I would pack them in the front section with cooler full, papers/files would bend or wrinkle so I didn’t bother. 3) Had to remember to pack laptop first, then front sections, sometimes it was a struggle to get the laptop in after and would have to unpack stuff from front either top or cooler front sections (sometimes both) to get the laptop in. SUPER ANNOYING and always happened when rushing, of course. FRONT TOP ZIPPERED SECTION (above cooler) > Fit a small/med purse and other essentials bags: both personal and work for the most part it was enough. > Like that there were not too many inside pockets where little things could slide in and get lost. Though wouldn’t have minded a reinforced zipper pouch that could hold pens, pencils paperclips, mini stapler etc. (the front outside zipper was not enough for that), and those sorts of things would often slide out of the interior open pockets specifically for pens and those sorts of things. (See dislikes for lost items) > Liked that the front could expand down to take up the space of the cooler IF THE COOLER WAS EMPTY! DISLIKES 1) LOST ITEMS! Like a black hole I would have issues with various sized items being lost under the cooler section; they would end up being pushed to the bottom of this section including if I kept them in the bottom inside pocket. WAY TOO many times I thought I lost pens, external battery charger, wired or wireless headphone case or charger cables, etc.. Thankfully when I would het to my destination and had time and appropriate space to unpack everything including cooler section, I would dig them out. Got used it, yet never found a good solution. —I don’t know how they would fix this and keep that expansion versatility when not using the cooler, yet if you are like me and pack your lunch daily AND they expanded the rear section to hold more vertical things, just sew in a bottom to this top front section above the cooler section. Problem solved! 2) This section could have used a more depth too. FRONT BOTTOM COOLER SECTION > I packed my lunch daily It keeps things cold. Haven’t used it for warm food. Dislikes: 1) wish it had a separate slide out lunch bag like I’ve seen on other bags, help to keep things falling out when unzipping the 1 zipper. 1b) would always have to lie the bag on it’s back to get food out. 2) WISH it had 2 zippers to open from either side ot have them meet on top to easily access section and just pull out 1 thing without having to position it so things wouldn’t fall out and the zipper was underneath the bottom so would have to lift it all the way up to get the one zipper. Though I did like how far down they zipped to secure the section for longer distances. OVERALL > I would recommend it. It’s done the job for over 2 years quite well. > HUGE LIKE Inside was always dry!! Kept rain water, spills or leaks, condensation OUT! >I would buy this again though I am looking for something else that remedies my dislikes. Sorry no photos not enough time; maybe I’ll add some later.

Very Durable
I work on heavy equipment on a farm. This bag is perfect for my lunch, extra clothes, and dogs stuff for a long day out in the field. I throw it in the back of the truck so it gets dirty but cleans up easy enough that I can use it when I take off to coach on weekends. Overall great product so far. Versatile and durable. My only comment is if you need more than one meal in your lunch box, this may not be a big enough insulated compartment.

The bag is small
The bag is great....BUT i wish it wasnt so tight fitting. It is hard to place items into the bag as the depth is very small. In addition, the depth of the insulated area is small. Forget about putting usual items into the backpack area if you have your food in the insulated area. With that being said, its an okay bag for essential items. Not for textbooks and travel. Good for nursing clinical shifts.

Backpack and lunch bag in one!
I’ve never seen a backpack that incorporated an insulated section before. I’m so glad that such a thing exists because this has simplified what I need to bring with me to work everyday. I can carry a laptop, my lunch, and the rest of my stuff all in one bag, which is great! The insulated section keeps my lunch cold (with two ice packs) for hours. I don’t bring a huge lunch so there is still lots of space in the rest of the bag. My 14” laptop fits with its padded sleeve, but I wouldn’t put a bare laptop in this backpack. I thought that the padded laptop section was too short and left too much of the laptop exposed. You risk scratches because a metal zipper pull is in direct contact with your laptop. I could have used some more exterior pockets. The top flap has a zippered pocket underneath, but they definitely could have included an exterior zippered pocket on the front of the flap as well. There’s also lots of space to have included an exterior zippered pocket on the front of the insulated section. Just some lost opportunities in my opinion, though I suppose outer pockets may be more susceptible to theft….I don’t know. The side water bottle pockets are kind of small and I’m afraid to put anything bigger than a regular plastic water bottle in there. My insulated drink bottle fits, but I’m scared of ripping the mesh. I thought the strap card pocket would be great, but in reality it is difficult to take my transit pass out while I’m wearing gloves so I haven’t been using it. These are minor complaints though. I do like this backpack, and I’m very happy with it. The size isn’t overwhelming and it holds a good amount. For the price it’s very decent, I just think it could have included some more exterior pockets. I recommend this backpack.
