Great way to store digital photos
Great for storing digital photos and being portable to remove and reinsert when need the photo. Also can be used as back with dual drive. You also buying storage and not need to buy the device or bigger storage. With apple i Mac 27inch there limited thunder bolt port so buying and G - Drives to is not possible and there appears no way to expand thunderbolt ports. Still looking for solution get two unit hook up.

Problem configuring RAID1 with MacOS 10
I liked G-Technology drive and have a number of them. Just replaced my G-DRIVE ev USB 3.0 in my G-Techology G-Dock ev with Thunderbolt after one failed and I received message that RAID failed. Problem I have is that after placing in the new drive still had a problem with RAID configuration. I want to the G-Tech website and looked for information on how to set up a RAID 1 and they said to use the Disk Utility on my iMac with OS 10 El Capitan but wasn't able to do that. Looks like Apple did not include that in the OS10, therefore information was not helpful there. Looked at web and found information on using a softRAID program to configure. Still trying to do that but G-tech should update website with more information on configuring product.

backed up all my old movie and photos and can use them with my mac and PC. Had to format the drive to be able to use both mac and pc before loading files on it
